I'm looking to maybe move to Ogden (Hill AFB) possibly this fall but I know nothing about the area. Hoping someone on here can give me some info.

You might want to also post your request in the Plan-It Husker formum - there may be some folks who check in there that don't hit the BS forum.

Will do. Thanks :)
I lived in Ogden for almost 2 years while I was stationed at the Defense depot in Ogden. There are some knock out looking women there and the town is fun. One of the best steak houses i have ever eaten at is there called the Prairie Schooner. It is an awsome place. The bars there are or were unless they changed beer only but you could carry your own bottle in and buy the mixes. If you want to have a mixed drink and don't want to brown bag a bottle into a bar you have to belong to a privat club, of which there are many. There was a nice country bar at the Flyin J Hotel, called the Tamarak. Lots of pretty women there.

You will be close to the skiing areas and the Great Salt Lake. The smell from the lake is something you will have to get used to. The people are friendly but make no mistake the church runs that state. The Mountains are awsome and right there. You are about 45minutes from Salt Lake City and that is a good time as well.

I enjoyed my time out there and You probably will as well. If you want to take any college courses there is Webber State right in town.

Another fun time is Pioneer Days. There is some historic places close and Winnamuka Nv is close if you want to gamble.

Enjoy and I hope this helped.

The Air Logistics Center (Depot) is where I'm looking to be assigned (Flight Test unit specifically). I have a buddy there now but I haven't talked to him yet. What is the cost of living like in that area? Crime rate? Any areas of town to stay away from?

When I was there the crime rate was not very high, low actually and the cost of living was reasonable. I was an E-5 living on the economy since we didn't have on post housing at the depot and I didn't have any problems. I was there around 1989 so things could have changed but most militery towns that I was near are reasonable. I would say that there was not really a bad part of town. It is like everywhere else if you look for trouble you can find it.

Like I said that was almost 20 years ago but I have friends that still live there and they have not said anything has changed drastically.

My wife's, sister's brother in law was stationed there a few years ago and he loved it. I might get in touch with him and see what he has to say as well
