Hey now...They haven't done the toilet bobber thing in probably a year......and now for some reason, I'm reminded of that joke about the two guys peeing off a bridge....where one complains about how cold the water is...and the other guy says, ''And deep, too".
My Dad dying a few weeks before I went off to UNL was totally unexpected..
.He was 5'9" and around 220..down to around 200 and had joined the "Fat Man's Club" 6 months prior...where the newer guys played Volleyball and the more hardcore guys played half court Basketball...I still wish to God I would've gone to some of his games..to make fun of him ..I mean, show support...like he went to all my football games...even the one near the West Coast (Ogallala)....But I always seemed to be working past midnight at my after school job...and chasing out of town girls on my nights off...
It was somewhat surreal when I could hear Dad yell at the refs in a packed stadium while I was trying to remember if I had the pitch, or the QB when Novacek was a wishbone QB for Gothenburg...and just LOVED running over me whenever he needed to keep a drive alive..
I'm now 6' and down from 300 a couple years ago to ~250...Looking at the BMI charts, I still wont be able to get out of the morbidly obese group without cutting off one of my hind legs...or maybe two of my nads..
My 14 year old Son has been bugging me for over a year about wanting me to show him how to lift weights so he can be big enough to play quads (4 drum set in Marching Band) next year ...I really don't want him to bulk up like my coaches had me do...but whenever I see a gym, the first thing I always want to do is see if I can still bench my weight and next; do the old 3 sets of 20 reps of 80 % of my max..On every piece of equipment I can find...as fast as I can...just to see if I can make myself pass out...
Poor kid is so small..He was telling me last weekend that some of the upper classmen drummers were talking about putting out an Amber Alert when they couldn't find him at practice...(And he was right behind them)....
