OK, I'm going to get ready for the beating I will recieve for this statement, but here goes.
If Solich is such a great coach, why is Ohio the best place he could find that would hire him. I also recall Army offering him, again, not a top flight institution.
Would someone please enlighten me as to why more high profile schools weren't begging for his services?
Probably for the same reasons our "greatest QB" according to some ended up being drafted in Canada rather than the NFL. The offense he runs isn't fashionable. It isn't part of the current trend or fad. Exactly what team do you think would have hired the great TO? The current trend in high profile college teams is to hire an ex NFL coach (Pitt, USC, NU, Notre Dame, South Carolina, etc.) FS doesn't fit the mold.
