AP Top 25

Actually, I would not be surprsed if NU did not climb that much, if at all. I think the voting contigent is waiting to see how WF and USC play out, so I say they climb one rank. Would that make it 18th?

I don't like early rankings that much either, but you can judge for yourself to some extent just by watching. It's blatantly obvious when it's two mediocre teams playing a close game rather than two good teams playing. And what I saw with KSU against Auburn was two mediocre teams. I would also say that Clemson is not a top 10 team or even 20 team right now, and Florida St. is just jokingly awful.

But Foppa does have a point with how the voting works, and Auburn may very well not drop because of that. But I think they should.
Only Nebraska drops in the polls with a victory. I think it's an NCAA rule or something ;)
Yup. Remember `97? We beat Mizzu and dropped from #1-#4. Because we didn't beat them in a decisive manner :sarcasm Of course when Michigan squeaked past Wazzu and we went back where we belonged in the Coaches poll, all the sports writers had a tizzy fit. I think that may be one of the reasons they all still hate us so much. They couldn't take away OUR championship!

Michigan should drop out of the Top 25 but they won't just because they are Michigan...they wil go to around #20. Lets also not forget Auburn shaky performance against KSU...we should surpass them. Assuming Tenn drops as they should and Fl St loses........I will say we move to 16 in the AP.

There should not even be a poll until the first week in October! Who is to say that KSU isn't really good, rather than Auburn is just pedestrian? Who is to say that Clemson isn't a Top 10 team? Who is to say Texas will be lucky to be 8-4? My point is I am sick of teams getting the benefit of doubt at the end of the year because the preseason polls have them ranked higher than another deserving team looking for a BCS bid! I just wish they would let some of the season unfold before releasing rankings especially since many teams don't get to square off on the field like the NFL or FCS teams to find out who really deserves to be playing for a NC!
The AP poll isn't a part of the BCS equation, but I agree on early rankings giving "traditional" teams an edge just because of who they are. If Meeeeeeeechigan doesn't fall out of every top 25 poll in the country, the voters look just as foolish as Blue did on Saturday. AP started us at 20, and I think that we will take advantage of Michigan, Tennessee, and Free Shoes U losses. I don't believe they will lower any others behind us, so 17. 16 in the Coaches poll. That's where the ESPNU poll has us now.

I'd really like to know who will drop below us for us to be up at 11 or 12. I just don't see it happening. I don't even think we're necessarily that good.
NU will not be anywhere higher than 16th. And you're right...NU isn't that good. Stop watching NU and go follow Women's golf. I hear Michele Wie is really good. Maybe go follow Notre Dame...that's an excellent bandwagon school. The Cubs are in first, go find that feel-good story, I'm betting they'll make the World Series, they do every year. That's terrific you don't think Nebraska is any good, I was beginning to worry that they'd start to gain some confidence in their abilities. Thankfully there are knowledgeable individuals like yourself to hinder that.
:rollin :rollin :rollin

GBR!!!

I'm guessing it will look something like

17. Michigan

18. Nebraska

We move past FSU and Tennessee, but Michigan stays ahead of us because they are Michigan. Auburn won't drop much if at all.
