After watching TJ and the Huskers last weekend, I got a surge of confidence.

Nebraska beating Penn State and Iowa would put the team in the top non-playoff bowl we could get.

And a win there would mean 10 wins.

What would we be able to do with the transfer portal and through recruiting? It feels like prospects will be trending massively upward.

Get TJ to stay. DR takes us on a great ride in 2026.

TJ takes over and continues excellence in 2027.

Trae coming in 2028 with more excellence.

We could be turning into a destination team for recruits and we could be taking our place back among the blue bloods.

I want to be so excited.

Am I crazy?

Not crazy... just maybe a little premature for this years results. I think if we are honest with ourselves we probably know we aren't there yet. That said, stranger things have happened and it would be a hell of a lot of fun to see us get to 9 or 10 wins. 2026 will depend a lot on what linemen we can pull through the portal and I'm not sure the results of the next few games will matter much. I think most can see we are a defensive line upgrade away from competing for a playoff spot.

I can't see a scenario where we pay enough to keep a backup QB on starter NIL money. Not with holes to fill/improve around the roster. DR is going to be the starter next year, and TJ is somewhere else (depending on how the last two games go, maybe even if they don't go that well).

I agree from a financial standpoint, but Rhule is openly saying we have money to compete in the NIL space now…. Hoping we can keep TJ. Yes, one game, but he did well against Akron and HCU as well.

I think it's noticeably turning, albeit slowly. Rhule's first year saw as many or more wins than any of the previous six. Last year saw an increase in wins and the first bowl game in eight years.

I think we should see an increase in wins this year, although I admit that "only" finishing 8-5 wouldn't feel anything like the Year 3 Bump that had been advertise. Even though I think there's a lot of evidence that we're an improved team, even if the record doesn't look much different.

So I'm hoping for at least a split of these last two and a bowl win to really feel like we're still gaining ground.

I find it easy to be optimistic about where we are and where we're heading. I think this team and the coaches have figured out who we are. I think this team has improved nicely from game one.

I don't know what to think about us being a "destination team" for recruits or if such a thing exists in today's NIL/Portal world but I love the culture and the promotion of it that Rhule engages in. I think Rhule is well suited to make us a destination team, if that's possible.

Dang... we're 7-3 and we have two players that are being praised nationally this week in EJ and TJ. It's a good day to be a Husker, imo.

I'm always going to lean towards the positives, but in this day and age, off-season moves are crucial. We could pickup a few great pieces and keep the ones we already have and maybe be elite. Or we could whiff and go 6-6 again.

This is where I’m at, which is I’m still butt sore we didn’t purchase a NT or another DL last cycle. We’re 1 or 2 big guys on OL/DL away from making a run. I really feel like we have the rest of the roster in place or coming in

I'm cautiously optimistic, but definitely leary when I see next year's schedule on paper. Was really hoping to breakthrough this year and then capitalize on it. Still can happen, lets start by showing out in happy valley

In this era, ups and downs will happen very quickly due to NIL and transfer. I think it's mostly a year by year evaluation.

I'm definitely optimistic. The change is palpable. 2026 schedule is rough (likely 3 top 5-10 teams). We need all the momentum we can get.

Somewhat skeptical - but a bit hopeful. If we can win 1 of the last 2 - I think we will be on the right track and are turning this around.
Reason for being skeptical is that: 1. Needs on DL and OL still evident. 2. Next year's schedule. 3. Inability to keep TJ and DR both for next year. I suspect we end up with DR which limits our options on offense.
