Brown, Gatewood reinstated

Longhorn coach Mack Brown today reinstated Tarell Brown and Tyrell Gatewood, the players suspended last week after their arrests on misdemeanor drug and weapons charges.

Mack Brown said the two would be reinstated with several stipulations: They are subject to a curfew, they must perform community service, and they will not be allowed to represent the team by speaking to the media.

Mack Brown noted that the drug charges have been dropped. The weapons charge against Brown remains.

He said the players would have to earn their positions back. Tarell Brown was a starting cornerback; Gatewood was a reserve safety and special-teams player.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? MAck whines about the clock rule, but says carrying a gun and weed around is kosher. :bang

Not having Brown hurt them last Saturday, they wouldn't have won anyway, but what do you expect. You know how things work on the 40 acres.

That is bull crap. Callahan will be judged as letting Culbert on the team, but Mack will be praised for giving a second chance to those two idiots.

I would venture to say that almost all programs do illegal things for their players. It happens all the time. Lets not forget some Nebraska history, L.P?

As you guys may have heard Willie Nelson was charged Monday in Louisana with possession of marijuana and funny mushrooms. The question we had was "Will Mack Brown keep him in the lineup this weekend?" The answer is probably since he didn't have a gun on his lap, although he was sleeping.
