Areas of Improvement

We are having a lot less new members today with first time posts and starting new threads.

This is a nice improvement. :-)

The offensive line is getting better every single game. I really need to acknowledge that. Kondolo and Sterup had a few hiccups here and there, but damn, I feel like this group is really coming together. Gates needs to get back out there and continue to build himself up as a player cause' I think he is possibly our best linemen, but this is really fun to watch all of these guys finally improving as the season moves on.

What ever happened to Farmer. I thought he was going to be great, but not a peep.

Not only did the Huskers have two interceptions, including Kalu's pick-6, and a fumble recovery, we also committed zero turnovers this game!

Agree with most of your takes except for the first one. Tommy struggled with his accuracy today. Overall i dont mind how he played because he made excellent decisions and kept the football safe but he under-threw a lot of his receivers and just missed a few times when he made the correct decision to throw to an open guy.

Lansdorf called a great game.

My big concern was our inability for our DB's to turn their heads when the ball was in the air. Rose got smoked all day long.

Gerry was excellent today and our D-line was outstanding.

Overall I am very happy with how they played.

On a personal note, i needed this win. I was tired of Gopher fans talking crap to me up here in MN. I had a blast at the game and the Husker fans who were at the game were awesome. Proud day to be a Husker.

TA went 18 of 26 (69%) with no INTs. Not sure how you can complain about his accuracy.

Labdlord mentioned them. Ill add stress to them. Penalties and turnovers.

Also. When we had opportunities, we put the points on the board. Thats hast happened in a while.

That's very true. I remember leaving only 7 points total on the field (Drew Brown miss and FG when we could've gotten a TD). That's pretty efficient.

Its really quite simple. The offense performs and the illinois and wiscy games look like this one. Our defense is getting the job done as well as we can legitimately expect.

If i told you wed hold illinois, wisconsin and minnesota to less than 100 yards rushing and force Lunt, Stave, and Leidner to all throw over 40 times, while holding 2 of them under 50%, what would you have suggested the score be?

Bury the run. Force average-at-best qbs to consistently make throws. A LOT of throws. Fortunately for Illinois and Wisconsin, our offense didnt take control of them games to the tune of 14-21 point leads into the 4th like they had opportunities to do so. But today. Well today you saw the formula for this year executed on both sides.

I think Cockrell was getting picked on more than Rose was.

I guess the one thing im still bigged by are the massive cushions. I know were lackin the raw athletic skill back there to effectively play the press coverage wed like to and that were using the cushion to eliminate the chunk plays and force these qbs to consistently make throws into windows. But damn. An 8 yard cushion pn 3rd and 3 and 4th and 4 is bullsh#t.

If you think completion percentage is actually synonymous with accuracy then I suppose you can't.
