And when the school tried to comp his tickets like they've done every other governor, he gave them a blistering and told them he would pay because he didn't want any confusion when he left office over who those tickets belong to. Last year he made the state police park the Suburban in his donor parking spot rather than a VIP spot.

Funny thing was that the year before last, one of the alternate weeklies heaped big praise on him for turning down a flight from ATT to go to the Cotton Bowl to watch the Hogs and went on about how elected officials should all show that restraint in accepting gifts from those they regulate. What they didn't think to check was when he was attorney general he did accept an offer to fly on a plane reserved for current and former board of trustee members by ASU to go to the New Orleans Bowl, he did buy his own ticket though.
