It's more like torture.i would say to him what my golf instructor said to me, "this isn't a game!!!".
I don't think anyone said its the players, it's the mindset of the staff. We clung to the lead for a quarter and a half, and left the game in the hands of the defense and a dropped pass at the 10 yr line. Good teams score and put teams away. It's definitely a mindset we need to establish or it's going to cost us a critical game, almost cost us this game. So, in the future...
Nebraska players can't smile, yet can't be tight while running plays that shouldn't have too much passing in it, but better not be conservative.
So second half possessions that included Touchdown, Touchdown, Interception, dropped pass by Enunwa that would have been a first down and a dropped pass by Newby on 2nd down that could have been close to if not a first down. That leaves one possession before kneel downs. We ran AA twice and then missed an open Enunwa on an out for a first down.I don't think anyone said its the players, it's the mindset of the staff. I recall Tommie Frazier smiling late in the Miami game when we were getting yards in chunks and that game was far from being over.HuskerinSunDiego said:When we got up 24-12 and had the ball, there was a play where (I believe) Armstrong had a big smile on his face. When I saw that, I thought to myself, "We are letting off the gas way too soon. We cannot start relaxing." Sure enough, Georgia worked their way right back into the game and almost won. I'm totally pleased with how we played, but, for that brief period, we let off. It's a small thing to work on, but we have to remain intense until the final buzzer. A small thing to gripe about, but, I honestly thought to myself, "We're going to lose if we keep smiling." Just ask Dwight Howard how far smiling has gotten him in his illustrious career. Totally glad I was wrong, but, we had the chance to put them away and we let them back in.
