As an outsider, I can confidently say things are better than fans may feel right now

One thing that would help both of our QBs regardless of who is in is if the RB was the leading rusher in the game for once... AM has been our leading rusher in more than half of the games dating back to last year. Mills has only led in rushing twice. Once against NIU and then Wisconsin. Otherwise he was out rushed by AM or Wan'Dale or others. He was 3rd in rushing more than he led the team.

For comparison in 2017, as good of a rusher as Milton was, he led the team in rushing twice and Vedral led it once in a blowout. He was second several times, but he frequently had games with only a few rushes for less than 20 yards. We need a running game/running back to emerge that isn't AM or LM. Our starting QB can't be our starting RB too if we are going to have major offensive success.

 
College football fans don't realize how hard it is to rebuild a college football program these days. You will not see a rebound as quick as Alabama went through under Nick Saban for the rest of our lives. Tennessee has a very good head coach that is trying to rebuild their program and they are also having a rough go of it. 

To rebuild a down trodden football program these days of college football you have to be patient and let the culture form, recruits come in, get coached up, and keep working and working year after year to build a winner.

You can look at Iowa State and say they are doing great - they lose to a Sun Belt team. They will never win on the national stage because of how slow and unathletic most of their roster is. They have a  ceiling. Same thing with Kansas State. 

Scott Frost wants to rebuild Nebraska to the national stage. That takes forever in college football and you have to recruit nationally these days to do it and you are competing against the SEC every year on the national recruiting stage. 

Nebraska's offense has been moving the ball in the first two games this season. Improve redzone play and that was a 21 point win against Northwestern and a closer game against Ohio State. By season end this will be a much improved team and there are about 10 true freshman getting significant snaps. Even sophomores are getting a lot of snaps. Those are Scott Frost's first two full recruiting cycle classes that are playing a lot of snaps. In two more years that entire roster will be his recruits and developed through an entire life cycle from registering for their frost freshman classes to graduation. 

You will have better long-term success by building it the right way than trying a quick fix.

So far Luke has more yards per attempt, a better passer rating, a better completion %, more yards per carry. He also showed the ability to get the ball to Betts and Fleming. The starting RB also said they move better tempo wise when Luke is in the game. It's time to see what he can do with a full game at the helm, not just coming in cold the last quarter of the game. Betts was never in the game when Martinez was QB. Martinez also had several dropped passes, but then couldn’t seem to connect the swing pass to Wandale. I don’t know this gir a fact, but it seems like Martinez gets saddled with Warner as a WR.

For Luke to succeed we need to put talent on the field to take the pressure off the freshman to make all the plays. Hand off to mills and Thompkins. Throw high success passes to wandale, Omar, Fleming and betts. Work in tight ends. Give him good plays with good routes, with scholarship players running those plays and he can just distribute. Run when needed. Use his infectious personality and competitiveness to pump up his teammates. 
 

Frost and staff have not done any QB any favors with lame play calls, and no offensive threats on the field but wandale. Everyone just focuses on wandale since we have walk ons playing most series 

but Martinez is inaccurate as hell and he does not seem like he brings the same energy. Our team seems depressed they need an energetic leader

No disrespect, but that's horses#!t.  We want a fun offense that scores a lot of points.  That's the bottom line.  From there you can build whatever you want.  It doesn't take years and years of fluff and duff.  Either you can do it or can not.  Will do it or will not. 

Speed, play makers, ballers, simple schemes, adjustments, and positioning your players for success.

And I was just going to leave it at horses#!t but for the sake of it, I expanded on it.

Not fooled with the outsider claim. Frost? Moos? Davison? So you are saying year 5 there is no excuses if the product still looks like it does now? 
 

I hope so because he will have been paid $25 million at that point

2nd team receivers came in when LM did both times.  Familiarity/2nd unit thing.  Look good to me.

Question for you Scott. Why didn’t you just say that day 1 and set real expectations with the fan base. Instead of setting us up for disappointment by saying you better get us now, year 3 we will be dangerous. Honestly you can’t blame the fan base for expecting what we were told to expect

This is it in a nutshell. AM had a poor game but the QB, whether it is AM or LM, is not the problem. For whatever reasons our QBs are having to do too much. Being relied on to run it themselves too much and having to adjust what they can do because of play calling and other positions apparent inabilities. It all gets exacerbated because it’s been so long since we’ve even had a serviceable number two. Now we have two QBs who can ball and when one of them throws a few bad passes, well, we all know who the most popular player on the team is then.

Either of them would be just fine if we had better play calling and an intermediate to deep passing threat. I think we have the personnel but the coaches need to find a way to use them and scheme them open.

If this is a "throw away" season, then throw the young guns to the wolves. It's a free, no eligibility issue season...  Build for next year this year......

Haha. That game against TT truly destroyed that kid.  I feel like the youth talent we have playing, as you previously mentioned, is faring well.  No worse than the more veteran guys.  They are the future.  I'd like to say the future is now.

well he also threw a bounce pass to Wandale.  Threw in between two open rec and sailed another one out of the endzone.  I don't think Betts would have helped on any of those.  I think they need to stop messing with the QB's "stroke"
