Assistant Coach
With Sam Keller transferring to Nebraska, how do you see him fitting in with that offense and what does this do for the Huskers as far as taking the next step to "restoring the order." – Trevor H.

A: It’s a huge, huge, huge boost for the Huskers. Now the question of who’s going to take over for Zac Taylor in 2007 has been answered and it’ll allow other quarterbacks to develop over the next year or two for 2008. Rarely do you get a ready-made starting quarterback like Keller who can instantly be the best passer in the conference. As far as fitting in, he’ll have a year to get comfortable for next season. He’ll do more than fine.

In addition, CFN picked their Landmine Games for each team. The one they picked last year was Kansas and, well, you know the rest. I don't mean to cause any alarm, but their pick for our Landmine Game this year is............

LA Tech

La Tech? If anything I would say A&M or even Iowa State, but LA Tech? It's not the game before USC, and not the game after.

I'm thinking they based this on what teams we could overlook. Obviously we aren't going to overlook ISU or aTm. But I definitely see where you're coming from with the games before and after USC, especially the one before.

I admire him for wanting to help on the scout team, but I hope Callahan limits that to the bigger games such as USC so he can focus on learning the WCO.

Eight days til game day! I just scored a couple tickets to the LA Tech game so I'm stoked!! Probably the only game I'll be able to get to this season.

With Keller around, we could really be poised for a dynamite season next year. The only factor that we will be missing from this year is our awesome DEs. From what I gather, our backups aren't too shabby either. We'll have an awesome QB with experience, our stable of RBs will be back, our WRs will be back, our K will be back, most of our O-line will be back, and our defensive backfield will have experience at long last. After the Keller transfer you have to feel good about our team next year.

I disagree about the landmine game though- I would say either A&M or Missouri.

if the huskers go in thinking they're gonna walk over *any* team they're asking for trouble.

if you start by playing each team like they were number 1 rated teams with BCS bowl bids on the line, you'll end-up beating them down like troy state.

sorry, troy. you're too damned easy.
