Asst coaches

Considering there will probably be a huge turnover in the coaches at the end of the season, who on the current staff would you like to see stay? Personally I would like to see Watson stay. And to be honest, I would not be surprised to see him as the new HC. Not saying it would/could/will happen. Just saying I would not be surprised.

What are the rumors out there?

I think we have some good assistant coaches. Buddy Wyatt and Shawn Watson being the two Id like to see stay. Bill Busch will probably stay in some compacity.

Watson is the popular choice and i think he would make a pretty good OC.

I think Busch needs to stay, i didnt know this until i looked at his profile but Busch was born in O'Neil, NE and graduated from Wesleyan so i think that is a definite plus in my book. Also he is a great recruiter, look at the kids he has brought in from Arizona, and he is the special teams coach, which is probably the best part of a football team right now.

I have heard that Adam Carriker had some very good things to say about Buddy Wyatt from the short time Wyat coached Carriker, and he is also a good recruiter. But the way our D-line is playing this year i have my doubts

I have heard only good things about Joe Rudolph

All of our running backs love Randy Jordan and i heard that if he gets fired they might consider tansfering, also i have read a few of the RB recruits like him and if he gets fired they wouldnt consider NU anymore becuase of the relationship they have with the coaches, esp the relationship with Jordan.

Also i have never heard anything bad about Ted Gilmore

SO i think you could make a case for any of these coaches. The ones that i think have to go are Dennis Wagner and Phil Elmassian, and then obviously we need to get rid of Callahan and Cosgrove.

Watson and Busch need to be held on to to help the transition and then possibly any of those other coaches i mentioned depending on the new coach.

They all have to go. If you have a cancer in your body, you don't have surgery to remove half of it.

:yeah It's time for some exhaustive house cleaning. I wouldn't be pissed if Watson stayed, but I son't see any reason to keep him looking at his resume.

I would want Watson, Wyatt, Rudolph, and Busch to stay those are the ones who have shown me they can and have done a good job.

Watson seems to motivate very well and seems to be able to call an offense well. All the players last year said that Wyatt taught them how to use their hands and other technique well, this years d-line is playing well but when you never blizt and you lose all 4 starters it is hard. Rudolph hasn't had a ton of time but has been recuirting very well and has had one of the best tight ends in years. Busch has done a decent job in special teams so I say keep him.

For those of you saying throw them all out think about it a little, the last time we got rid of all the coaches it didn't work out. You need to have coaches that have been recuirting to keep the ones we have, and to keep the current players fimilar with a couple of guys.

originally I would have said watson, wyatt, and busch. but I dont know now. I wondering if we dont need a complete break.

I would have been in favor of seeing Wyatt stay because of his reputation as a recruiter, but if he's supposed to be such an awesome d-line coach, then why are his boys last in the NCAA in rushing defense?

TO likes Watson so I think he will still be here.

Busch could stick around to be the RC(was a GA under TO so he has a good chance)

Maybe Rudolph because I think the TE have improved under him and we need young guys on the staff.

Doesn't an incoming HC put together his own staff? It will be up to the new HC who is retained and who is sent their walking papers. Considering this staff has beaten nearly every piss poor record we have, I think a new beginning with a clean slate is best.
