This kid is a QB, not a safety.

His patience and poise inside the pocket. Moves the pocket, but keeps his eyes down field while doing so. Doesn't get impatient just to pull and run. Has an actual feel for the rush.

His patience on the zone read. He is willing to keep it to the last second to force that defender to be decisive so it makes his read that much easier. Also impressive how they ran a bit of a counter look out of a zone read play with him.

And he has a very quick, short release. When he decides to throw it, that thing gets out in a hurry.

I like his QB film. A lot.

Actually, asking him to play safety was one big reason why he committed to ASU - he realized there weren't too many 6-0 QBs in the NFL and though he'd have a better chance at Safety.

 
He tends to bring the ball back far, but he seems to have a CANNON!

He runs the option just like TM3, but maybe not as fast... I like him though!

 
Already been commented on, but I find his running style EXTREMELY similar to Taylor. His arm and footwork are much better though. Would really like to get this guy.

His family is good friends with the Martinez family, his dad coached Taylor before he transferred to Corona Centennial. Their family also knows coach Fisher. Drake Martinez is his player host this weekend. I would think all these connections along with us offering him at QB put us in great position.

 
ASU has a fairly solid QB set up for the next few years. I thought he was going to be part of it, but they definitely need athletes in the secondary, that's for sure. Moving him to S makes sense if he's cool with it.
