Athletic Department under review

I think Perlman and Osborne can share a lot of the blame for what is ailing Husker sports right now. Especially in men's sports.
Osborne? But, not SPEM? Or, Ickyhorst?
Wow! So much appreciation for Osborne, who got the task of cleaning up Prickman's original mess, Yet got cut out of the process which could have prevented Prickman from making yet another sorry decision.
The nicknames are as obnoxious as hell. Cut it out.
They are typically used when someone isn't articulate enough to express their opinions. So, they think calling someone a name is an insult enough to get their point across.
So that's why you do it.

We live in a tops turvy world when people start thinking they know more about football than Osborne. I reckon these same people argue techniques with their brain surgeons too.

That said, me pointing out two (of many) examples of knowledgable people who thought it was a bad call isn't saying those two are infallible as much as just refuting a silly suggestion that it was a no brainer to fire Frank after he revamped his staff and went 9-3.

We haven't had a top to bottom group of assistants as good as the '03 staff since then.
We haven't had a season with only 3 loses since then either.

(though I feel bad for Coz and thought his HC gave him no cover with that offense).
Wow. You just lost all credibility with me.

Again.
I must not be reading his post correcty (something we are all guilty of frequently I guess). Is he talking about Kevin Cosgrove here? Like former Defensive coordinator under Bill Callahan Kevin Cosgrove???

I believe that's the same Kevin Cosgrove who was saddled with the job of holding unranked Colorado below the 51 points the offense provided, but valiantly gave up 65 points instead.

No....he must be talking about someone else. I'm trying to rack my brain to remember what coach's nick name must have been "Coz" that I'm not aware of.

Should I predict the response about passing offenses and turnovers keeping the poor defense on the field, and preemptively provide evidence to the contrary?

Or is that time better spent masturbating to online porn?

At least the predictable ending is more enjoyable.

Here, let me try:

Yeah, because of how quickly Callahan like his offenses to run it didn't allow the defense to actually rest at any point. If the offense would have mirrored what TO used to do, Coz's Defense would have given up half as many points every game.

-Stats from cupcake games where defense actually played well

See, if they would have run THAT kind of offense then the defense would have been playing at a higher level.

Guy, go back and look at some of the defensive debacles. They started with offensive meltdowns that snowballed (eg, lots of short fields after turnovers and three and outs).

Callahan's offense only looked decent when racking up points in garbage time. It was a paper tiger more often than not.

2006 was carried by the defense.

"I feel bad for Coz because Cally did him no favors" does not equal "Coz was a good or even decent DC."

I'm guessing you guys did very poorly on your SAT and ACT verbal sections.

No, it's more of your middle ground wording so you can later say you didn't mean something. We have all become quite familiar with it this week.

so you like to feel sorry for bad coaches. got it.

I'm think that people should be fairly criticized. That's all.

Of course, I don't think bad coaches are necessarily bad people. Coz was a good example of that, as he seemed to always have his players' interests at heart. So yeah, I feel bad that a guy who had previously been an average coach saw his career driven into a gully by arguably the worst head coach in Husker history.

Or a schedule that easy either. NU beat zero ranked teams and lost badly to the three ranked teams that they did play. Frank's "staff" wasn't better, they played a historically easy schedule. How can it be considered a "good" staff when Barney is the OC?
