Attracting athletes

Lets discuss something a tad bit different. After all the discussion about attracting athletes, program facelift, etc.

In your opinion, If the program was established in the city of Omaha, would recruiting get worse, get better, or stay the same?

 
Been long time since I've been to Omaha. They still got Taco John's? Valentinos? Runzas?

 
My opinion about that really won't help. But I would guess it would be the same for fan support and same for recruits. So I will sit this one out.

Our walk on program is not the same as it once was either. All of those kids from Humboldt, Grand Island and many other towns that aren't Omaha and Lincoln no longer have the presence they once did in terms of key contributors. It's sad but I guess it's reality.

I think it boils down to the players liking the people who are recruiting them for starters, their potential coaches in other words. I think that and all the program and school has to offer them truly trumps what particular city the school might be in.

The only benefit of Omaha would be possibly more options on flight times and a closer drive to the stadium if arriving into Omaha. Other than that, doesn't matter.

 
University of Nebraska football program moves to Omaha. Seems like a good idea. And totally plausable. But a better idea, and just as pllausible, would be for the new East Stadium Sports Science people to come up with one of those teleporter things from Star Trek. We could just beam in the recruits for visits. 11 a.m. starts would no longer be a problem. We could even hire somebody named Scotty to turn the switches of the newfangled device.

Humboldt huh? Wasn't expecting that to be a town used for an example lol
