I don't watch much tennis unless I happen to turn it on and Roddick is playing (gotta support fellow Husker fans). I stayed up last night to watch him. He made a hell of an effort to come back, but his shoulder injury took away most of his power.

Saw the first set last night but fell asleep right after the tie break. Woke up this morning and saw where he lost. Stinks how he had to lose with the injury. Goes to show you how much game he has considering he took it to five sets.

I've liked Andy since he first appeared on the pro radar a number of years back. Sampras once commented that he was the future star of men's tennis, or something to that effect. And it did look like he was going to be for a while, until Federer started playing out of his mind. Many tennis fans thought Andy and Roger would become big rivals, but Fed's game was just so dominant that Andy's never been able to catch him.

It's interesting to look back at how the expectations for Roddick kinda changed once it became obvious that Federer was forcing everyone to play at a whole new level if they even wanted a chance at beating him.
