Hey folks. It's Axel. You'll have to take my word for it, as I'm not entirely sure how to prove I'm actually me without a time-stamped picture or something of the sort. But it is. And, honestly, if it comes to it, I'll provide that too.

And I have to say, I agree with you. Both the twitter and the Facebook status happened at about five in the morning. I wasn't thinking clearly, and had just spent the last two hours essentially arranging what needed to happen next with my car. I was tired, and I was stressed and I was pissed. To say that I was thinking even close to level headed would be a dirty lie.

Honestly, I was a massive d!(k about this. I didn't think it'd have that far of a reach. I expected to just mumble at the internet, and not have much of anything come from it. I certainly didn't intend for it to be character assassination. From the little time I spent in the same general area as Suh, he seemed composed, calm and dealing with things well.

Both the tweet and the status have been removed. I'm sorry again for being a d!(k about this. I was venting. I forgot that when someone on the national scene does anything, anything about this gets pretty good coverage too.
Dude, I don't think you should be apologizing to us. The man you libeled as "very drunk" should be getting the apology.

What's sad, is that some fans are so pathetic, creepy and obsessed, that they have to hunt down the facebook and twitter pages of some guy who had his car hit by a Nebraska player. Now he feels like he has to come to a Nebraska forum to apologize? Apologize to who? Dude you owe me nothing. You did nothing wrong. I don't care if it's Suh or the mailman, if he hits my car, i'm mad, and i'm talking crap about him.

My buddy from TN who doesn't follow any sports was hanging out with me. I told him about all these posts about Suh, the accident, the guy who owned the car, people posting his status updates... My buddy looked at me and said "Man Stu... I know you love Nebraska football. But sometimes, when you have to tell me stories about other Nebraska fans, you hang your head in shame, because I can tell that you don't ever want to be one of those fans who takes it too far."

And as far as him saying Suh was "Very drunk"... you guys can't possibly be mad at that. Were you guys there when it happened? Can you honestly say that you are going to get mad over that? If so, look back at all the bad things everyone said about watson, cotton, and lee, and all the names that were used to slander their characters. "Very drunk" is very light when it comes to insults, and perfectly justifiable if the person who said it is looking at a guy who just hit his car and is now taking a sobriety test.

Stop slandering Axel's character. Stop calling him names. And Suh, stop hitting parked cars.

There are several Douchebags in this situation. One obviously, is Suh because he hit 3 parked cars. The other Douchebags are the ones who stalked Axel via facebook and twitter. And right now, If you have read this whole thing, and it has ticked you off, and you are still mad at Axel, or me... then guess what? You = D-BAG.

You don't need to apologize to us Axel. Apologize to the man whose character you impugned.

Also . . . I'm thinking that Mr. Arth recently spoke to a lawyer about the situation. He sounds like he realized the full implications of his accusations. Hopefully for his sake he was talking to his own lawyer, and not getting a friendly call from the University's lawyers.

Anyways, I'll edit my post to remove your quotes. If the other posters here do the same at least it won't be spread further.

Stalked? A link was posted to the picture of the car that was hit. Click on that . . . and you are on Mr. Arth's facebook page. I don't think that's anywhere close to stalking. It sounds like you are the one who needs to lighten up: "If you don't agree with me you are a d-bag!" Haha. Arth could be in some fairly serious legal trouble over this.

If SUH hit my car Id post it all over the net, but it is all in the punctuation...

I would be more like

SUH just hit my CAR !!!!!!1111 = D

I would have him sign the car, then save it until he is huge in the NFL and put it on ebay... get some pics too!!!!
Actually, I did have my Oklahoma tickets in my car at the time. I briefly considered asking him to sign them, but realized that'd be in rather bad taste.

And I know you folks don't owe me any favors at this point, but I'd still like to ask you one. I have no problem with you folks talking about me here. And like I've said, I agree with most of the sentiment about me that's been brought up; I wasn't thinking with a level-head and I crossed a line and made a gigantic douche out of myself far more publicly than I thought I would. But if you could stop sending me messages on facebook, I'd appreciate it. I've done what I can to take care of the mistake I made. I'm not sure what's next to do.

And, as it only seems fair, if you'd like to see someone tear in to me, you can find it here: http://nebraskanews.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html . Wednesday, April 12th, about halfway down. A little old, but still a good read.

I doubt the people in this thread and on this forum have been messaging you. (at least I know that I haven't). Take comfort in the fact that it will blow over soon. Within a week people won't even remember your name let alone the events of Sunday morning. Good luck. :thumbs

Serious Legal trouble? No.

D-bag if you don't agree with me? Yes.

Good job changing this whole subject and taking out the name calling. Smartest thing I've seen on this thread, besides my posts anyways.

Thanks for being a man about it.

It's definitely appreciated. :)

If I can make it through the Oklahoma game without "accidentally" getting kicked in the back of the head by the people sitting behind me, I'll consider it a win.

And I figured anyone willing to talk to me here wasn't messaging me, but I know that one of the guys who sent me something said that he heard about it off of the boards, so I just thought I'd cover the bases.

And, 'cause I saw in asked in the other thread, I promise I am a Husker fan. Born and raised on my father's tickets. But I'm also 22. Thanks for dealing with me when I ran my mouth.

And for the record; if the group had ever been made, I would have requested to have been an Admin. Doesn't see right for people to think I'm a d-bag if I don't even get to tell the stories.

Serious legal trouble? Yes. Quite possible. (not saying it's likely . . . I don't see Suh filing the suit.) He stated Suh was driving drunk. He published this online. The information he published was false, so he can't use the truth defense. Therefore, the published false claim that Suh was driving drunk is a defamatory statement of Suh's character that fits perfectly within the libel statute.

See: Neb. Rev. St. 25-839. Libel or slander; how sufficiently pleaded; burden of proof.

"In an action for a libel or slander it shall be sufficient to state, generally, that the defamatory matter was published or spoken of the plaintiff, and if the allegation be denied, the plaintiff must prove on the trial the facts, showing that the defamatory matter was published or spoken of him."

Stu, you are incorrect. Man up like Mr. Arth did and better luck next time.

I'm pretty impressed with this. Presuming this is the genuine Mr. Arth, it takes a lot of courage to own up to this. It wasn't the worst thing in the world (what you posted about Suh), but it wasn't the coolest either.

Did you owe us an apology? Nope. Was it still gutsy and cool that you did it? Absolutely.

I've never gotten my car plowed into when I was incoherently sleepy at 2:30am, but I have said some pretty boneheaded things here at Huskerboard that I later apologized for. I don't know Mr. Arth, but I have good feelings about him for this.

PS - yes, what Mr. Arth wrote about Ndamukong could have been interpreted as libel. It's pretty tough to pin libel on anyone, and the first rule about lawsuits is "Never Sue The Poor," and since I'm assuming Mr. Arth isn't wealthy, it's not likely Suh would have taken any legal action against him. But... why run the risk?

Thanks for the cool headed response. We need more of this.

I'm glad he actually got to state his case after everyone flamed him for being ticked off. He was emotional, flipped out, then calmed down and apologized.

The only money that's going to be exchanged is Suh giving more money to his insurance company. And that's the way it should be.
