B1G Ten simulation if Nebraska would have joined in 1996

I cringe every time they have predictions by "NCAA football ####" *huge freaking sarcasm quotes* "simulations" but those are just ads for a video game on TV.

Why anyone would even bother arguing the merits of simulations from a website that basically does the same thing, but for the past, is baffling to me.

Frankly any network that puts that crap on should be embarrassed, including the big ten network. I cant imagine a more useless way to fill air time.

That is something that the haters like to throw out, but I am of a differing opinion. The media, in all of their self-righteousness, decided to jump a couple of Big 10 teams over Nebraska while all we did was win, and with rare exception, win big. Why, do you ask? Well, I think that the media 1) got tired of Nebraska kicking everyone's asses, we never were a media favorite 2) likes to take down people that are well respected and revered, especially when that person is a Christian (see Tom Osborne, Tim Tebow) and 3) it was backlash for the Lawrence Phillips/Christian Peter/etc, situations from years past.

That my friend, is also a well-established theory half-baked opinion.

Perhaps this is surprising to you, but not every thread on the internet stays on topic! :LOLtartar

The conversation had shifted to today's release of the 97 season and how incredulous many were at our at our 5-3 simulation. Certainly knapplc had, talking about beating Manning. Just a simple misunderstanding.

96 would've been a good game. Early in the season I wouldn't have liked our chances. Later, as Frost got more experience and the O line jelled a little better as they got more comfortable in their new spots (or had we shifted them back into their 95 positions? I forget, but I knew we started off with some changes and even Osborne questioned himself), it could've gone either way. A blowout either way late season would be very surprising.

97, yeah, we had our very close call against Missouri, and Michigan was nearly beaten by a weak Pac 10 champ, so you can't just give them an automatic unbeaten season either. I highly doubt OSU beats us in 97.

I disagree with #2, I don't think the media tried to take down Tebow, quite the opposite, I remember the media talking him up like he was Jesus himself, declaring him the greatest football player ever. The general public doesn't hate Tebow because he's Christian, the general public is Christian. They hate him because he's a raging doucher. Kurt Warner is uber Christian, but he's not a raging doucher. Therefore the general public doesn't seem to mind him.

This simulation is a joke. NO way 97 NU loses to Michigan. I saw both those teams and that Husker D McBride had going would have found a way to get to the QB time and time again. Also Frost would have ran all over Woodson.

The 5-3 record just kills any interest I had with this. Maybe if you flipped us with Iowa (who went 7-1 in the Big Ten), then I'd understand. But three losses in a year where the team just absolutely demolished Peyton Manning and a good-great Tennessee team? Not buying it.
