Baby gifts!!

<_< Man I really hate buying baby gifts. Neve know what to get, then they always turn out to have 2 of it already. Why do they need gifts anyway!!?? They have plenty of crap and what do they care.

Anyway,wondering if i could get some tips from others who have those baby things or people who are good at buying gifts for them. What should i get for a 1 yr bday and then what for a newborn?? Little help please!! :bang

 
I have a 6 month old boy.

From the parent perspective on the newborn, give diapers. B) I hate constantly buying diapers now. It was great when we had all those free diapers as gifts. Any random age-appropriate (no small parts) toy will do just fine for a 1 year old.
