i am back from iraq for 2 weeks starting today, but i am still traveling back to Nebraska. right now i am sitting at DFW airport waiting for my connecting flight to Omaha.

this is the second time i have come through dallas on my way back from "down range" and i am impressed with the patriotism of these texans. first, after we got off the plane, there was a gauntlet of people shaking hands, thank you's, hugs, and such.

walking up and down the terminal killing time, i stopped by a sports bar to rehydrate, and 3 people wanted to buy me a beer, before i got half way into the bar. i ate lunch at TGIFridays and someone paid for my lunch.

it has been an awesome experience so far. i had to come in to the Admirals Club so i wouldnt get wasted and have to be poured in my seat back to omaha. i am still in uniform and i am not supposed to be drinking while in uniform or on travel status.

a big thank you to all of the Husker fans on this board, and today a special thank you to the texas based Husker Fans :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

Welcome home and enjoy your short 2 weeks! Thank you for all you do for us every day over there. What part of Omaha are you going to? Relax and take care and remember....There is No Place Like Nebraska!

That's the least folks should do for our soldiers. I may not agree on the necessity of the war, or the reasons for being there, but I commend each and every one of you that answer the call of duty.

Right on! Enjoy your R&R brotha Rob!!!

And as a Texas based Husker - thanks! :cheers
