Bad Exposure?

nfl players already get paid.

this suit isnt about EA in the end. theyre trying to set precedence. if a court agrees that players should have been compensated by EA, then it opens up a whole can of possibilities for lawyers and players to go after the NCAA.

it affecting tv deals or whatever would be down the road, but schools are going never need less money to run these top flight programs. tv deals are never going to get smaller, especially when you factor in that ESPN is slowly taking over. add players in taking a piece of the pie, well its not outrageous to think that in the end consumers will pay more to watch football.

LOL this will go no where! If anything the NCAA should collect a certain % of the profits and divide it among 121 teams or whatever it is that are represented in the game. Call of Duty should pay every Veteran a % of their profit for using their likeliness. STFU SAM and go on with life!
Sweet! Where do I line up for my 5 dollar coupon?!

:yeah

I'm still tryin' to figgure out how paparazi can get away with taking my picture all the time without compensating me.

Personally, I'm kinda proud of Sam. You know the NCAA is gettin some money for the realistic looks in these video games, how is it they can copy every single detail of a player, sell it for millions upon 10's of millions upon 100's of millions of $ each year, but yet the player or university doesnt collect a cent (someone correct me if i'm incorrect on this). I THINK IT'S bullsh#t, and yet a player gets suspended and the school get tv appearences and scholarships taken away if he wipes his a$$ in the wrong direction. THE NCAA IS A CROOK FACTION AND NEEDS SOMEONE TO SUE THEM A TIME OR TWO.
Sam's just the retarded face of a stupid lawsuit. The lawyer had this thing already written up and approached him about it.

That said, if this somehow affects EA (which I doubt it will) you can kiss watching games on TV goodbye. If they're gonna go after a video game company regarding an alleged digital likeness, why not go after ESPN, CBS, ABC, FSN for raking in billions on broadcasting real images of these kids? If they win that, we will no longer watch games on TV without paying enormous amounts of money.

Didn't think about that, did you?
Who runs the world you live in, Ernie Chambers? When a kid signs up to play college football he agrees to allow his image to be shown on tv. If they don't already have a clause like that in a letter of intent, they could just throw one in. What is a kid going to do, not play? Give up his scholarship? What about the pros? They get paid to play for a team, not perform on tv. They don't get extra television money. It comes with the territory. You play for us, you might be on tv. Don't like it, don't play.

Gamers should sue EA for turning out essentially the same crappy, bugged out game year after year by virtue of forcing out any and all market competition. They're turds.

maybe i missed something, but i dont recall bubble boys parents, or people in their cars, or guys walking down the street selling tickets for people to see them. thats just silly.

I agree, there should be more competition in in the College Sports field. I think I remember a time when I was younger, there was more choice.

Anyone watch the piece on OTL? If it made anyone look bad, it was Husker fans. They read bitter remarks the likes of which I saw posted on Huskerboard about how Keller was washed up and should get a job and all of that. It sure embarrassed me.
