Why is it that after his first 2 years in the program 5 Star recruit Marlon Lucky was being called a bust by some of the blowhards of Husker Nation while 5 Star recruit Baker Steinkuhler hasn’t been, even though Lucky’s production after the first two years would trump Baker’s? Is it because people demanded more out of Lucky then they do out of Baker? Is it because of Baker’s bloodlines? Is it because Lucky is from California and Baker is Nebraska born and raised? Is it the Callahan vs. Pelini factor? I’m not saying either of them was/is a bust I am just curious as to why. :dunno
Probably b/c he's been stuck behind a great defensive line, specifically some great DTs, and none of us have seen him play. You can't call someone a bust or a stud without seeing them play. Marlon came in and played from day 1 as an all-star RB. A RB has a much better chance of seeing the field earlier than a DT.
Also, his 5star status can as an O-lineman and he's been practicing as a DT.
