Balance of Power shifting?

I've always thought there was/is going to be a shift in power where the North dominates the South for a few years and it will then shift back to the South being the dominate division. As Callahan said, "it's cyclical". I think we're starting to shift in power: NU on the rise, KSU playing well, CU hiring Hawkins...even Kansas looks to get into the mix.

When the Big 12 North goes 2-0 against the South on any football weekend — and Baylor isn’t involved — it sends shock waves through the entire league.

But is what happened Saturday — Kansas State’s 45-42 home upset of Texas and Nebraska’s 28-27 victory at Texas A&M — enough to suggest that the balance of power is shifting divisional lines once again in the league?

It hasn't shifted yet, but it may be starting. It's like a said in another thread, remember how the NFC had won all those Super Bowls in a row and now the AFC has reeled off a few. Same thing.

THere's actually a shift all amongst college football. Wake, Maryland, BYU Rutgers and Boise St. all ranked, except BYU in the top 20???????? Meanwhile Miami, FSU, Iowa, and other big time teams are no where to be found. This is why I don't get that upset when we "only beat a team" by 14 on the road. A team NU typically used to beat by 40. It just doens't happen anymore.

I agree.

If UT's recruiting is any indicator I think they'll be around a couple more years. Also, look at the highscool program in TX. The Huskers have to come down here to find top recruits. However, as the Huskers improve we will be more attractive for recruiting in TX and CA.

Here, here. Not only are they ranked, but a few of the bowl 'projections' I saw had Wake, Rutgers and BSU in BCS games. It's PROOF like this that gets me so riled up when oblivious Husker 'faithful' think we are going to walk all over any team.

The title of the movie "Any Given Sunday" could be more appropriate for Saturdays?!?!

I believe the power is shifting right now, just look at the talent of some of the north teams. Next year, us, Mizzou, and KSUcks should all be in the top 25 throughout the season. The north is on its way back up.

I said in another post give the North a few more years and a lot of people are going to be talking about how good it is..........
