Bar fatigue/burnout?

OH HSKR FAN

Has anyone experienced or is experiencing this? There will be some mornings where I wake up and go through all my receipts and say Wow! I spent x amount of dollars and the fun that I had was not worth what I spent. I have felt this way for some time now.

It will be interesting to see if Teach posts in this thread. He loves going to bars.

Myself, I rarely go to bars anymore. I have plenty to drink at home or hanging out in the neighborhood.

I've felt that way after bachelor parties sometimes. You're sort of obligated to go. And sometimes end up spending hundreds of dollars. Generally nothing good comes of it. You just end up with a really bad headache, and a much lighter wallet. But it's sort of a duty.

Sometimes in college . . . but then we mostly switched to just keeping the kegerator stocked.

The only night of the week I drink outside of a home setting is after playing vb. But I understand how you feel OH.

I felt this way for a bit, but then I started to make more of my time at bars. Approaching and meeting more people generally makes the experience more fun than just sulking around with a buddy or two. You feel better about the time you spend while you're out. I also only go with cash when I go out. Once the funds run out (which I prefer not to happen), I'm done. This is good because I end of spending less (good), drinking less (very good), and I am more conscious of my spending i.e. not wasting money on chicks at the bar (best).

The magic number for me is generally a liquor drink and a beer over an hour before I go out and then between 3-4 beers over the span of 2-3 hours. I only spend, like, 12-15 bucks and I still feel well enough in the morning to work out (unless I'm late-nighting or something, but then the gym becomes MUCH lower on my list of priorities

Ever since my favorite bar closed down its just a painful reminder when I go to a bar. That doesnt stop me from going, but it is slightly painful.

I don't generally get that feeling because I'm very selective about when I go to the bars. I don't go very much; when I do, it's rarely a bad time.

It's called growing up.

You'll get used to it. As you get older, especially if you aren't trying to pick up women it really can get boring, and you spend a heck of a lot more money. The only time I really find the bar scene fun is on game day.

I would retweet this if I could, lots of truth.

I love going out drinking but I also like drinking cheap if possible. Some of it depends on what group of friends I am with, ColoHusk can agree with me, some of my friends have no problem paying for their rounds and others have a HUGE problem.

Also, if it is turning out to be boring, I leave...if its fun...I don't mind spending money at all. I just did some day drinking and spent 20 dollars...no big deal. Today will be volleyball and my team is pretty HORRIBLE at ever buying pitchers so I buy one or two. Kind of annoying but it is what it is.

For me, on the high end a bar night is 40-60 dollars...on the low end it is 0...mostly it is around 20-30...which I don't think is that bad.

With that being said...I like day drinking and happy hour drinking the most. I also LOVE Omaha bars during Husker games...super fun! I spend way more on those days...in Omaha 60-80 and in Lincoln maybe 50-100...depends who I am with.
