Mike Nesseth blows the save walking two batters they reach 3rd and 2nd, i believe Boomer Collins slipped, then Ribey of Fresno State hits a two run homerun to win it 7-5 in the Ninth

 
Sounds like the field was damp, so Collins slips at the worst moment. First outdoor baseball experience of 2010 versus Fresno's preseason conference pitcher-of-the-year, not much to read into a game like that at this point yet.

Always hate to see a heartbreaking loss like that so early in the season...

Oh, well..we've got a long season ahead of us. Let's just hope that our pitching woes that plagued us last year will be resolved. 2 walks in the bottom of the 9th is a bad, bad thing. Straight-up can't happen. Shouldn't happen.

It rained in Stanford in 2008 which cost Nebraska the series win (complete with a 4-run inning late to blow a lead), they went on to have a great regular season, albeit with the familiar late-season collapse. So a game like this is not entirely uncharted territory. I expect better production from Bailey and Farst moving forward.

I agree. Nothing better then a weekend at home, listening to a Husker b-ball game. The dead of winter is officially gone!
