BC on '95 'skers

I bet callahan couldn't name 5 players off that team.
He doesn't need to name 5 guys. You know why? Because they were a team and a team is 1 unit. That's what Callahan is trying to do with this team. Make them a unit. Anyone who decides otherwise is shown the door like Birkle
I honestly don't think recruiting the guys he is recruiting is going to do this. Locking guys in locker rooms, etc isn't going to do this. You think Beck is going to be 3rd string for long and stick around? The big 4 and 5 stars aren't usually about team they are about making the nfl.
So...what? he shouldn't recruit 4 and 5 :star guys? That's just idiotic.
I didn't say that, I do think you can have to many. Take a look at the texas's they win quite a few games on talent alone but can't be the good good teams because they don't have will to win like a team made up of great talent, walk ons from nebraska, etc. A detroit pistons and san antiono spurs are great examples. They have a few great players, and alot of good role players that have the will to win.
I guess Tenn has too many with 17 then, eh? And OU has too many with 16. FSU has 16 and Cal has 15. These teams are gonna suck I guess, right? Yea, our 13 is way over the mark. :sarcasm

That's par for the course ;)

Ok, do you have any basis for this or this just your assumptions about people not grounded anywhere in reality?

USC has an awful lot of 4 and 5 star players. Are they not a "good good team"? Check out Texas' rosters, you are kidding yourself if you think they have nothing but 4 or 5 star guys.

Yeah, I am sure since he has never watched film on ANY of those players, never watched recruiting films of them when he was at Wisconsin, etc.

Ok, now cue Benard's back pedal into the warm blanket of another thread.

how many titles has tennessee, and fsu won in the past 30 years? You will probably be good like 9 or 10 wins good but not good enough to win titles.

How many titles did we win with Solich's "role players"?

This sounds familiar as in you argued this last year. That argument still can't stand up to a western Nebraska breeze, my friend.

2 in the past 7 years. TU in 98, FSU 99. Swing and a miss.

gotta give it up to bigredcountry for using ostracize :worship on the real subject BC should maybe go back and watch game film of that team every month or so, just to remind him what the expectations are that are on him, i dont care who ya are thats a major mountain to climb, and gotta be somthing youve gotta see every so often to believe. FS couldnt live up to alot of peoples expectations and he knew from first hand, has to be hard for BC to grasp sometimes that the bar has been set so high for him by the fans.

on this note miami is a school that always has talent, but seems to fall apart as a team, the talent level they have every year, seems like they should be more consistant, i know they do well, but seems like some years theyre more hype than anything.

You can't argue with how many hurricanes go on to successful NFL careers. That place is a pro player factory.

Funny you mention Miami. I am guessing you probably watched the 2002 Rose Bowl. Talk about domination. Miami DOMINATED that Husker team a la the way the 95 huskers dominated most everyone they played. As far as Miami being hyped every year, I would agree, mainly because of the gross amount of talent they have.

Don't forget FSU in 93. Didn't they play in 3 straight NC games? How many years in a row did they finish in the Top 10? So let's see in the last 30 years FSU has won 2 NC and NU has won 2.5 not that big of a difference.

Benards whole agruement about Solich was he won 10 games in 03 now he is saying winning 10 games is a bad thing.

ummmm.... last I checked, Miami has 5 national titles.... all since 1970. I guess talent can get you somewhere. Reggie Bush, a five star player, splits time with Lydale White, a 4 star player, at USC, and Matt Leinert, another big one, came back for his senior year after winning the heisman and sitting behind Palmer, another big one, for two years. Matt Cassel, another 4 star player, is a rookie in the NFL this year after having never played a college down at USC. His comment on it.... well its obvious to me that I was the third best quarterback in college football (behind Leinert and Palmer) He never left the team. All of this is from ONE team, and all were very talented and would have or were high draft picks. Oh yeah... they won a few national title if i remember correctly.

here we go again. :bad :bang doesnt arguing over the same old crap ever get old? tradition this tradition that. the only true tradition there is is that traditions change. and bitching about coaches and athletic directors on message boards does not get them fired. if i were you guys i would be trying to frame BC and Pud or something if you want them gone so badly. :dumdum :woo
