Please.

Keep an eye on any of their fans you might see as well.

(if any actually show up, they do not travel well. 5000 went to the fiesta bowl last year. 5k!)

They are sneaky bastards...theyll be nice we you look at them, but when you go into the game theyll key your car or spit in your grill.

im not exaggerating. if you see any fans, watch their shifty eyes, looking for an opportunity to break an antenna off a car or put a bottle under someones tire.

Just win the game.

Thanks for the insight. I was going to use my ticket on the 50 yd. line and go to the game, but instead I'll sit in the parking lot by my car clubbing my tire-iron against my hand, waiting for those 'shifty eyes' to come around. :bat

You do know the game is in Lincoln, right??

This reminds me of when my buddy and I took the park n ride to and from the Orange Bowl in '94. The bus was FILLED with Husker fans, and this bum got on, tried to steal a Husker fan's beer, and run off the bus, at the same time yelling 'Go Canes'. Now I know most Husker fans are pretty tolerant, but that guy got his *ss kicked after then grabbing this girl's *ss going up the isle. He got smoked, and then tossed onto the sidewalk (don't even think the bus had completely stopped).

So if all these 'criminal' fans that come down from Pitt wanna start something, they should know there will not only be a huge Police presence, but 78,000 others that won't put up with it.

I can't even believe I wasted my time on this rant :lame

Behavior could be more prevalent because of the type of rivalry you guys have benji, but as I said in a previous thread, when Nebraska played Penn State in 2002, Penn State were beyond obnixous. So you really have no room to talk. Yet when Penn State came to Lincoln they were treated with respect and P State fans were fine. I expect the same from Pitt fans. Instead of "ratting" on other fans, you should watch your own fans behavior first. <_< <_<

Besides they lost their first two and you said they don't travel well, I'm not worried in the least.

Yea, every single NU fan at PSU in 02 was disrespected and every single PSU fan at NU in 03 was given a handshake and $100 bill.

No, but the way I was treated was completely unacceptable. If it were only a few Penn St. fans that were disrespectful, why did the president of your Nittany Liion University write an apology letter to Nebraska fans and UNL????? Bro don't even go there, wasn't even close to the same thing.

The majority of your fans were disrespectful, rude and cruel. They stole peoples hats, poured beer on fans heads and started fights. I don't give a sh#t who it was, it was enough to warrant an apology letter from your president.

Heckling prompts apology to Nebraska

BY MITCH SHERMAN

WORLD-HERALD BUREAU

LINCOLN - The top administrative officials at Penn State have offered an apology to Nebraska football fans who felt unwelcome last week in State College, Pa.

In a letter to The World-Herald, signed by Penn State President Graham Spanier and Athletic Director Tim Curley, the administrators described the behavior by some of the school's fans as "unruly."

They expressed "profound and sincere apologies from all of us in the Penn State family." Spanier is a former chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Penn State will visit Lincoln for a game against the Huskers next September at Memorial Stadium.

More than 110,000 fans, the largest crowd ever to watch a Nebraska game, attended the Nittany Lions' 40-7 win at Beaver Stadium. Steve MacCarthy, Penn State's vice president for university relations, said the letter of apology was prompted by 40 to 50 e-mail messages from Nebraska fans.

"Basically, they felt that a portion of our students had not been as hospitable as they should have been, and we agree," MacCarthy said. "A number of our students crossed the line. That type of bad behavior is not typical of how visitors are treated here."

MacCarthy, who witnessed some of the poor behavior, knew of no arrests or acts of violence related to the football game. Most of the reported incidents, he said, involved Nebraska fans who were heckled while walking near the stadium.

The Penn State administration, MacCarthy said, plans to use advertisement space in the student newspaper, the Collegian, to remind students how they are expected to act at future football games.

"Like the rest of us, they are representing Penn State," he said. "I've never been to Nebraska, but I've been told the environment at football games is a very healthy one. We expect to have the same thing here."

there are jerks in any crowd, but that night the Penn State fans were a bunch of unruly clowns.

maybe you're different, benji. dunno, but i'll give you the benifit of the doubt. i do know that nebraska prides itself on its hospitality to fans. win or lose, your average husker fan is pretty mellow.

i guess it come from living the good life, i guess.

So you're logic is, that b/c EVERY Penn State fan didn't throw batteries at our players as they walked off the field, that makes it ok? meanwhile most of our fans clapped for the PSU players as they left the field. you're sarcastic reply was pretty weak.

to use you're own sarcasm in regards to Pitt, i'm sure EVERY Pitt fan has spit on the grill and they've all keyed the car of every opposing fan. and then EVERY PSU fan treats them with respect when they come to Happy Valley.

FWIW, Husker fans said they were treated pretty well when they visited Pitt last year. which is far more than can be said about the way NU was treated by PSU fans. regardless of if it was only a minority of them.

I knew I could count on "The Hack"

hahaha ok.

I can sense the hospitality of NU dripping from this board.

I can see why I would get jumped on with a post promoting your team's victory this weekend.

I would have surmised a response similar to: 'Thanks, good luck to you, too.'

The good life must not be too good....you guys are awfully sensitive.

PS. the student sobered up the following day and returned the hat.

We're defending the Pitt fans, benji. You were acting like a hypocrite and got called on it.

AAwwwww did we hurt your feelings. **sniff** **sniff** I'm sorry. <_<

He was drunk.. it was okay.. nice. And dude, try and distinguish a message board from fans on game day. BIG difference. We tend to take out our uncertainty and frustrations with words in a virtual forum, and return to bleeding the scarlet and cream on Saturday. Much better than heckling fans on game day to make up for an inferiority complex.

wow. I actually hope pitt wins now.

thanks for the hospitality.

good luck with voicing uncertainty in a virtual forum.

oh, and thanks for calling me out on my hypocracy. No one is a little too serious here, at all.

You bet. :WTH

Thanks for showing up with nothing to add, your team nowhere to be found close to Husker Nation, must be a dry spell in Drunk Valley. Thanks for playing, we have some lovely parting gifts for you.

If a tree falls in a forest, and no one hears it, does it make it sound?

NO. ;)

Well ACTUALLY, sound is just vibration interpreted by the ear. So, if a tree falls in a forest and no one around, it still makes the vibrations, there's just no-one to interpret those vibrations... except, of course, the animals. lol
