Hotlinking in general is a bad idea. I've seen several times where the owner of the website will intercept hotlinked images and insert something like this:

Or:

2387.jpg


Some guys will insert nasty pics in your hotlink, too. Nobody wants to stumble on a goatse when they're expecting football images. ;)

Oh I know all about redirects on hotlinking pictures, but the website was a gif repository. If that didn't scream ok for hotlinking, I don't know what does.

 
Well, there's nothing saying it's not OK. For some reason it just didn't show up for me (and I think for everyone else?) which is why I rehosted it and put it in my post.

EDIT - BTW, once I went to that site via the link in your post, it shows up for me just fine here at HB. Not sure what that's about. If I can see it there, why not here until I had it in my cache? :dunno

I've had that happen several times before to me.

I then usually hear my Granfather's voice in my head ...explaining stuff to me while he worked on someone's television...He'd uaually just say, "Strange electronic Phenomena".
