Beck given his release

This will cause the team to come closer I think. Hopefully the leaders will get in the faces of young guys telling them if something is wrong take it up with the coaches. Don't go crying anywhere else. And if you aren't doing good, work harder to get up the depth chart. That is what I hope happens.

 
Does this help or hurt us when it comes to recruiting QB's? I would think that it would help us in that we have so few right now....We can once again recruit with the "come in and play right away" line after this year.

 
Comment 1 - its amazing how a note from one's mother can change the whole outlook on a player's character. From 500 miles away I thought that Beck showed a lack of selfishness last year in the KS game.... giving up Red Shirt, etc.

His lack of communication with coaches & team mates gives me a whole new (and very poor) opinion of his character.

Comment 2 - I read that Beck was really PO'ed about being #4 on depth chart. ZT is #1 and Ganz #2, so who is #3 ???

 
According to the rivals teaser, beck met with bc today. If that is the case, he is not in Florida yet. Just curious as to what transpired during the meeting. I know its been reported that he has been released from his schollie, any proof other than the radio.

All I heard was that Beck and Calli talked on the phone, and Beck was granted his release. Other than that, all inernet sites still just say he missed practice.

I guess talked on the phone is another term for "met". He could have talked to bc from FL. Just have to wait to the press conference this evening.

 
this is the exact reason why Taylor is the starter, character speaks volumes!! beck is going to be kicking himself in the a$$ when Zac shatters more records and takes us to glory, he's gonna be like "man...i could have been mentored by that guy!"

 
What is Beck's mom going to say when Taylor leads us to the title. Well he is an "OK" national title qb. This probably wants to make Taylor prove himself even more, though it was just a mom.

y'know, i did *not* see this coming.

seriously. i'm completely blindsided by this.

he could have been the future of this program. he might have been better than taylor. of course, pulling the stunts he did pretty much stopped either from happening.

i'm not going to wish harrison ill or anything. i'm just gonna say good bye and good luck.

i guess this is all just a cautionary tale of much envied high school stars... all that glitters is not gold.

the rivals teaser did say that they spoke......now the big question is did they speak in person or was it by phone or was it by text message
