Not exactly sure how I feel about it. It was nice to see how he would do. Anyway, just curious to see how everyone else felt about it.

beck and congdon just saved billy's a$$......unless beck plays against CU and in the bowl game, it was a total waste!

I don't see a problem. If we would have lost,maybe. Beck was shaky at first, but has to have gained confidence when he led us down for the field goal to win.

Don't forget about Freeman coming in too. I see Beck getting time and blossoming into what we all thought he could be. AND we beat K state! :cheers

 
beck was 1 of 6 for 21 yards with 1 pick....an inauspcious beginning, but nevertheless a start.....if we don't get some O linemen, he will end up like Taylor,

kocked out of the game.....you could see this coming all season, Taylor taking way too much punishment......

My thoughts.

It's too bad that it happened so late in the season. I mean, I never wanted to see Taylor go down like that, it is just unfortunate that it happened.

Why Beck? A winning season, that's why. That's what was on the line. And although Beck did throw an INT, he still made a clutch throw to put NU in position to win.

Would Ganz do the same? We'll never know. Perhaps Ganz would have thrown two INT's to seal the teams fate.

Whether the call by Callahan was perceived as right or wrong really doesn't matter anymore. It was done.

Beck gained confidence in his game play, was put in a very stressful situation and prevailed. (Imagine his stomach as he trotted out to take his first snap in live action.)

The kid will be pumped for a while and I am sure there are many people in Lincoln that will reinforce his actions on the field today.

Waste of a redshirt year, I knew that billy c would do something like this. <_< I think that Ganz or Davis could have had similar numbers.

On a side note, I have been told that Beck isnt particularly accurate in practice.

 
Just listening to the game it sounded like there were a couple of his passes dropped. Maybe the timing was off, but I think you need to get your future starter all the snaps you can. Especially when the heat is on like today.

Not unless Taylor cant go. He is the all time passing leader. Cant bench him.

I see Beck getting time next year. Taylor will start IMO. Beck will get snaps , (maybe outperform Taylor).

if Beck is anything like we hoped, he will outplay Taylor next spring and will start..afterall he was the #3 QB in his class.....he SHOULD win the job next year

I hated to see have to burn his r/s year but what a time for him to have do it. Thats got give him a lot of confidence. Coach C made the call that he figured would give us the best chance to win. It is "his" team.
