Best conference in the country?

Interested to hear who most of you feel is the best conference in the country. For most of the season I was leaning towards the SEC, probably moreso b/c NU and the North were so pathetic, but Im starting to have second thoughts. I noticed that the Big 12 still has the most teams playing in bowl games at 7 - so could it be possible that even tho the North is in the toilet the Big 12 still reigns?? The South teams are pretty damn solid from front to back after OU & Texas.

ESPN is pumping up some "conference bowl champion" contest, where they will anoint the conf with the best bowl win percentage as "best conference in the country". I know they do this every year, but I guess its more visible to me this year as Im grasping for something/someone to root for. Still have trouble cheering for Texas or CU, but at least its better than KSU or MU!

I say big 12, I know I am a little biased tho.

The big 12 always has at least 2 legit title contenders, the most teams in bowls,

and almost always has a team in the title game.

The big 12 is the best, but won't get the title of best conference.

It will go to some small conference that goes something like 2-1 or 3-1

I believe the MAC and the BIG EAST have been competetive for that title in the past few

years, which shows the system is flawed. It goes strictly on winning percentage.

I think it should be more something like so:

3 points for a win

1 point for a loss

and winning percentage times ten all added together

That way the weaker conferences with 2 teams playing in less

prestigous bowls couln't have just as equal of a chance or sometimes a better chance than

conferences with a large number of teams in more

prestigous and competetive bowls that are really the best conferences.

But the weaker conferences would still have a chance to make some noise

and even win the crown for best conference.

Heres how my system might play out.

Big 12: 4-3(57%) 4x3=12, 3x1=3, .57x10=5.7

12+3+5.7=20.7

smaller weaker conference: 3-0(100%) 3x3=9, 1.00x10=10

9+10=19

very competetive and the better conference actually wins

I always thought the SEC had the best conference. Because of the competition, they always end up beating up on one another, unable to get that national contender. Although one would have to wonder why Auburn was not not helped this year.

if the north was a good as usual then it would be us but this year I don't think big 12 is the top. The south is tougher than hell but the north is worse then mac schools.
