Best fans in college football

I can't help but think with all the "best fans" posts after last week, and all the slamming on here now with the OSU loss this week, that this is true. I'm upset we lost, question what happened, but it's over. We still control our destiny by winning out, so have faith the coaches and players figure it out. There were several things went wrong with this game, and you practice hard and work 'em out. It's not lost yet, but one more loss and it will be. One game at a time, that's all you can do.

Don't give up on 'em yet. They need our support more than ever, and I still have hope.

Let's not start being "fair-weather" fans..........

I'm pretty sure most of everyone out there is just upset right now like me, but there are only a few out there that say thing's like, "huck the fuskers." There are going to be people like that in every fan base, luckily we aren't dominated by them like some teams. (CU, Kstate...)

If you look back at all the posts many of the people posting today did not post last week. Some people even on our board(gasp) love misery (not missouri). :) There's nothing wrong with questioning a loss. But a bad loss will bring out the worst in people.

Always and forever

Good post. It's just a game, and hopefully, we can learn from the mistakes. It hurts to lose, especially when you really thought you would win, but tomorrow is another day, and we begin anew. The moment you stop trying, you might as well be dead.

Yep, I've been saying it all along...we're doing incredibly well considering the drastic changes that were made. It's an unfortunate truth that we're just not good enough yet to play poorly on the road and still pull out a win against a decent team like Okie State. That's just called rebuilding. It's impossible to have the top level consistency so many have come to expect so soon after all the changes we've made.

Of course I'll continue to support the team, never in question.

This was such an ugly loss...break-down in all aspects...so people are going to vent big. Gotta believe the kids are down but will use that as motivation to show that they can come back, beat Mizzou, and make this a great season winning the north. Give it 48 hours or so to let the :steam :steam :steam simmer down.

ok, someone step up now and tell me WHEN we should expect improvement.....not 3 years....maybe 4-5-6

how much and WHEN can we expect to see any steady improvement? or will the light switch just be thrown sometime soon and we will all of a sudden be a force? sh#t guys, i don't see any damn rebuilding going on yet, not even a godamn flicker......2 steps forward and 1 back does not mean sh#t!

I think you're blind, then. We are still playing with a fair number of Solich's recruits, and many of them were not recruited into this system and aren't quite up to the level we'd like. We're still rebuilding a very depleted secondary.

Whenever you make a total system change, you need to give it about 4-5 years to start really seeing consistent results. If you think we aren't better than last season, then you're completely blind. We are so far ahead of where we were last season it's unreal. And that season was so much better than the first you can't even compare them.

What you're seeing now are growing pains. It's the inability to put it all together each and every game. You see flashes of great play, followed by lulls. Then you see a game where they collapse totally. But such a hard loss isn't the rule, it's the exception. All these things are magnified on the road.

So yeah, there's your answer. I stepped up.

Ugly loss? Obviously you are not watching the Tech - Longhorn game. It's fittin' to get real ugly for the Horns.

I am not even one bit emotional about today's loss. Seriously, I am not mad or sad. It was just a loss. Those that post so negative obviously were not even on this planet when we had that awful coach in Tom Osborne. He could never beat OU and always lost the big one to Clemson, Miami or Florida State. I sure am glad that guy decided to retire when he did. :sarcasm

Let's see where these same whining clowns are at when Nebraska returns to dominance sooner than most think. :thumbs

It was a bad game and a poor performance by our huskers. We all thought including me that we would win this game and obviously our guys thought that as well. They made mistakes and shot themselves in the foot and that's too bad. I am upset that we lost because we shouldn't have. We are a better team than this. Now we'll drop out of the Top 25 which I really don't care about that anyways, but if we can beat Mizzou, A&M, and Colorado we still have the North and a chance at going to a great bowl game. I am disappointed though........ :dunno

Every single team goes through letdowns during the season. One of the biggest struggles in football is coming out and playing with the required intensity and focus week after week. At some point, you're going to have a week or two where you just don't play a good game.

When you have an established system with the right recruits and all that, you can play a poor game against a decent team and usually pull out a win. That's what the best teams in the country do. For us, we're just not there yet, and it's ridiculous to expect us to be at this time. We have to accept that we don't have the ability to put it fully together each and every single game yet. When we have a decent opponent and have a big letdown for a game, we've got a good chance of losing, especially on the road. That's all part of rebuilding.

We're still far ahead of where we were last year.

Amen, brother.
