Now I realize there are a lot of factors to saying if we can next year or not such as who or what JRs might decide to go Pro... but Im gonna say next year....

-Keller will know the offense

-RBs will have a season behind them

-Nunn and Purify will be Senior WRs, Swift will have another year

-Line can keep growing together

-Losing Carriker and Moore but Juniors Turner and Potter should replace them very nicely

-Bowman will be back along with Jones and Grixby

-Green will be in his 3rd and final year as a DB

The only reason I would say we have a good shot this year over the next is becuase there isn't team that is a front runner, it's wide open, all teams have their flaws and they are known

I think the better chance is next year. But I think we could win it this year. The breaks would have to go the certain way, but this team is talented on both sides of the ball. If the db's can play good enough, this team could go all the way.

We will make a big run for it when Keller starts. I am so pumped for that year and the offense we will have. We are in store for one high-flying offense that year.

I guess I'm the only guy who voted on this year, because I couldnt vote for "back-to-back"! :cheers

Next year is just to far to anticipate, too many things happen along the way. We all know that by now. And this year? Man just bring on La.Tech and I'm gonna go enjoy one game at a time.

Regardless, GBR!!!

I think the schedule is set up more for us to make a run at it next year. We get USC, aTm, Iowa State, and OkState at home. This year we have some tough road test that may trip us up along the way. Plus we have not played well away from Memorial Stadium durin Bill Callahan's tenure.

This is the debates we should be having which year will give us the bets title run. It is nice to move to this type of debate rather then how long it will take to rebuild.

It's fun to dream, but lets be realistic at least. IMO, a national title this year is out of the question.

I really hate to say this, but we are about 5 years away from a national title. I think when Witt is a jr. or sr. we will have a shot. For sure I can see us having BCS games the next couple of years, not a national title. I may be wrong. All I can say is that the USC is HUGE! This game could (and will) determine the future for NU for the next few years as far as recruiting. If we can "steal" some recruits from SoCal, that title will come sooner than expected. :)

Am I the only person who can see how vulnerable USC and Texas are? There is no dominant team this year! I think we have as good a shot as anybody. The schedule is in our favor and if the O-line can get it together we have a shot this year and next year we will be down right scary!

Texas's main problem is they have to break in a new quarterback. By the time that we play them he will have seven games under his belt. Plus some key games against Ohio State and Oklahoma. Grantite, he may not be to the same level that Vince was but he will have the offense down and his offensive cordinator will know what he can do and put him in situations to succeed. If we played them at the beginning of the year, then I would agree that they would be vulnerable but I don't see them being vulnerable throughout the whole season as some people see them being.

I'm having a hard time believing that a lot of people are already overlooking this year all because Keller came here!!! Zac is our QB right now and all I'm worried about is this year. So I voted for this year because I have a lot of confidence in our team this year. I don't know much about Keller so I'm not going to put my faith behind him just yet. I'm sure he's a good player and when he takes the rains I'll be there rooting him along, but until then let's go Zac and "bring that trophy back to Lincoln!!!" :cheers
