Biased commentators

And yet they're still talking up the Nebraska defense...

It's ok, though, if the conspiracy that everyone hates the Huskers helps you sleep at night, alrighty then.

We always think refs/commentators hate us. It's completely illogical. These guys are just appreciative of football, and they've been all over Nebraska with love since the beginning.

Fans demand everyone else in the world to worship the team wholesale and are often shocked to find that not everybody is a Husker homer. Not everybody has to be.

Taylor needs to sit the rest of the 4th Q. Not liking the limp. Cody needs reps and it would be good for zac to sort of try and stay sharp, just in case.

There is no bias against Nebraska. This comment always makes posters look like thin-skinned rubes.

Also keep in mind that out of both courtesy and the desire to keep viewers watching, professional broadcasters will try to compensate for a team getting its a$$ kicked.

Everybody thinks the announcers are pulling for the other team...

Perfect example for those of you who follow the Big 12 blog on ESPN, then you might know this. A couple of months ago, two e-mailers (one a Sooner fan and one a Longhorn fan), e-mailed David Ubben (the guy in charge of the Big 12 blog) claiming that he was a homer for the other team and gave way too much coverage to the other one.

Two fans from two different fan bases claiming the same guy covered the other guy's team more. That's pretty telling.

I glanced at the title of this thread when I was posting in the Game Commentary thread, and I just figured it was someone pointing out how the ABC guys were heaping praises on NU. I was very surprised to see that wasn't the case. These guys were almost embarrassingly pro-Nebraska, I thought.

how does millen have a job in football? he was the freaking GM at Detroit for like a decade when they only won about 10 games...baffles me...the way he announces games is like he's doing a talent evaluation, "Jake Locker is talented but raw" "Helu is fast and strong, he'll be playing on sundays" "Prince has that closing speed" ect...but what talent did he EVER evaluate at Detroit so well??
