you have 4, (two halves) but who's counting. :) chuckleshuffle :)
We actually have 5 but if you're going that route then back in 1970 we shared it with both Texas and Ohio State so it's not really two halves its more like 1/3 plus the 1/2 share with Michigan so it'd be 3.83 National Titles but thanks for trying :clap

In my opinion Mizzouri is not a national power. They haven't even played in a BCS bowl game yet. If they put together 3+ seasons playing at the level of last year, then they can start to be mentioned as a national power.

i still dont get the CU love. i havent seen anything out of them that would make them deserving of such praise.
Maybe it's because they beat OU last year who until they laid an egg against TT was destined to be in the NC game. Let's face it, CU could be pretty good this year. They played a lot of true freshman and redshirt freshmen last year. They just landed one of if not the best RB in the 2008 recruiting class. They were up and down (loss to ISU) last year because of being so young, but now they're a little more seasoned and should be a pretty solid football team. If Mizzou and KU are one hit wonders, then don't be surprised to see CU take the North. They could be that good this year. If this isn't their year which I don't think it is, next year they will be very good IMO. Hawkins has his signature win. He knows how to win the big games. Now, he just has to get his team to play consistent each and every weekend. Considering the situation he walked into, I think he is one of the best coaches in the Big 12.

You traitor and talking all of that CU love...........................I miss the old junior4949 <_<

LOL @ CU love. I just try to see things for what they are. I think CU is at least 1 or 2 years closer to winning the North than Nebraska is at this point. As things stand right now, the North is Mizzou's to lose. However, CU should have a pretty solid season and shouldn't be taken lightly by anyone. Hawkins did a good job last year getting his young guys gametime experience, and now he has a stud at RB. They could definitely do some damage in the Big 12 especially at home with the high altitude and all.

If CU played all home games they might possibly have a chance at the B12 North (except for the stunning opening loss they are going to suffer at the hands of Colorado State....) but whenever they go on the road they collapse like a house of cards...I guess the extra resistance of oxygen in the air slows them down or something....

So they beat OU...what's that prove? Hell...ISU only lost to OU by 10. Add to that, the fact that ISU beat CU last year (even without the tornado) and where's that put CU? Lower tier.

This writer is pretty much a hack (no disrespect intended to the REAL hack). I'm sure he can't find Ames on a map and I'm betting the only reason he could find Lincoln is because it's the one with the "purty star over the city name".... <_<

If my ex-wife would have had as big a set of boobs as the ESPN staff has, I would have never gotten that divorce.

Welcome Fro Daddy. Good to see another MU Tiger fan on the board. Now I think there's a total of 2. Congrats.

I'm a Jayhawk Fan, yes that's right, God's team. You know, that team that went on to play in the Orange Bowl, even though you beat us? That has to keep you up at night. We even WON the Orange Bowl after everyone said we couldn't. Thanks again for completely laying an egg against OU in the Big 12 Title game. That gave us a crack through the door and Money Bahs Lew Perkins went ahead and kicked it down.

Then we decided the Orange Bowl and finishing 12-1 wasn't enough, so we went on to completely dominate College Basketball and WIN the NATIONALCHAMPIONSHIP. Remember that?? I'm sure you remember Mario's Shot.

All I can say is good luck this year (except of course against Kansas, may everything bad happen to your team in that game) and I hope you're undefeated when you come to Arrowhead so we can ruin your life the way you guys almost ruined ours last year. Again, THANK YOU for laying an egg against OU in the title game. That was sweet.

:clap
Hey no problem JGS30. Thanks for not laying an egg again in the NCAA tourney like you do every year. You saved the conference a lot of embarrassment. Plus you proved that even the retarded guy can get the girl everyonce in a while. No biggie for that OU thing either. It was nice to play for a conference championship in football. You guys know what that like.....ur.....wait.....sorry. Well back to basketball (even though this is a FOOTBALL BOARD) (note: Husker fan, if you don't already know this is a staple of KU fan. We will be talking football. They will know they have lost the arguement and then, out of the blue bring up basketball to try and rub that in your face)

You know, although i would gladly take a NCAA tourney championship at Mizzou, and as you have made painfully obvious that you are proud KU won. HOW do you really consider yourselfs to be some top 3 program. I do know the history, so PLEASE don't try to educate me. But compared to the other top programs and their champions KU just doesn't stack up. 2 times you have won the tourney in its current format (since sometime in the 1950's) and both times have been flukes really. Your 88 team were not only cheaters, but barely did well enought to even qualifly and for gods sake man they are called the "miricles". And this past years team, although very talented and highly ranked won because of what might just be the absolute biggest choke job of all time. But you hit your shots so i will give you that.

Anyway thanks for being the one KU fan on this board. And thanks for you insight. Also good luck this year and I to hope you are undefeated going into arrowhead...no wait,...that was a lie. But good luck this season.

;)
Like I said before. Thanks. I'm happy to be here talking with ya Fro. I mean, It's not everyday a KU and Hawk Fan can talk sports, without getting tino a pissing match. I won't touch Basketball anymore, cause apparently in "Husker land" it's not a sport. So lets talk football.

How do you like MU's chances in Lincoln this year? I really hope ya'll lose, but I don't see how. Don't get a big head or anything Fro, but I will admit you're offense is pretty unstoppable...(except of course against OU and in the 2nd half of the Arrrowhead Armageddon game, but that's neither here, nor there). I just don't see many teams on your schedule beating you. I think you'll beat Illinois by 14 points and you'll get by Texas in Austin (as long as McCoy is the QB Texas is doomed for failure). So it's gonna come down to the Arrowhead War part 2), unless of course the huskers restore the much desired order. Thoughts on the game??? Prediction if you will???

Wonderful.. a Jayhawk tool commenting about football on the Nebraska board... wow!

Can we get a review of that schedule again from last year?

Anyway... I see Nebraska being a very difficult team to play this season, Ganz was great at the end of the year and if the Huskers can get any kind of Defensive improvement they will tough to knock off...

Tigers haven't won in Lincoln since 1978... and any Tiger that thinks this year will be a walk-over is kidding themselves...

I see the North as Follows....

Missouri I think MU's defense is going to be great

Nebraska Callahan almost single handedly ruined one of the great programs in the nation.

Colorado Young talent and a coach, Hawkins, who seems to know how to get his teams to play hard

Kansas Losses against Tech, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska probably Colorado or K State and of course MU

K-State Prince seems clueless

Iowa State the Clones may finish ahead of K-state.. depends on the growth of the offense

Just a view from the middle of Southeastern Conference Territory......

Can't wait for the 30th of August
