Big announcement coming?

Word is we should look for a summer announcement, maybe June.

Story is they are trying to be sensitive to any budget issues that the University might face so they are waiting to see if anything drastic comes out of the Legislature this session.  The state is looking at more of budget shortfall than anticipated - not terrible but a shortfall none-the-less - so they want to make sure they have all the ducks in a row in case the University gets funds cut to some degree.

But word is when the announcement comes, it will on the best-in-the-country scale.
And the speculation is that it isn't a new tennis court so what does your crystal ball show the announcement to be?? :dunno

Word is they are going to move the track and build a complete football-only facility in its place.

For sure will be locker rooms and meeting rooms to accommodate a roster size of 150+.  If the latest word is true about best-in-the-country scale, I'm sure there will be all kinds of extras for the players to use/hang out in in their non-football time.

The announcement of new, best-in-the-country facilities would pair nicely with a 10-2 regular season. :thumbs

Moos and company have visited other universities and seen what we are competing against while our facilities are excellent, they no longer are upper elite

moos and frost want to be able to blow out anything they have direct control over and facilities matter when it comes to recruiting our wow factor isn’t what it used to be

frost is a players coach and is in tune to what kids like. He was on the cutting edge at Oregon too . moos is a big picture, big projects guy who will want to leave his mark

thanks to the gobs of money the big throws at us every year, crazy generous donors and the loyal season ticket holders Nebraska will build a palace that solves all the issues frost has been complaining about

this won’t be an incremental improvement it will be an attempt to leapfrog them all

imo it will be announced this summer but the big push to fund it won’t happen until after nu wins the 9 or more games I expect them to win this fall

and momentum really starts kicking in

expect some hints sprinkled in along the way, heck you might even hear a crumb today from frost at the LINCOLN chamber of commerce lunch at pinnacle

i.e. a retractable dome

How about...

a 300+ room 5* hotel, er, dormitory, with built in classrooms or video rooms to "attend" classes virtually,  (formerly) off-campus (to the north is room, right?  big price will be buying up all those houses) with ride service to the stadium.  The extra rooms are for guests, mainly so their parents can stay for a large part of the year.  The penthouses will be for the big spending boosters and 5* recruits.

Oh yeah, and some modifications to the stadium as well.

Or to house opposing teams overnight when Mother Nature foils our plans.
