Big announcement coming?

A few posters on a couple other boards, who are pretty accurate with info,  said its pretty much a done deal and the cost is upward of $140M...

Just depends on how you want to semantic it.  It's not explicitly stated but I'm sure paying travel, lodging and meals is a lot of what they payout is designed to cover.

Yes, and if we did have a facility for housing visiting teams it sure would be easy to throw in lodging and cut their payday or we might even be able to sell lodging to some conference opponents. As we all know, getting a hotel in Lincoln for gameday is near impossible and very expensive. And when not being utilized by opponents there are other possibilities; donors, important visitors, recruits, etc. I’m not too concerned about another Akron situation but it does seem like the idea may have some possible merit.

I'm just glad this money wasn't spent during the previous era.

They probably would have doubled the size of all the locker rooms and made it so there was only room for 85 players.

If true, keep in mind that (very nice) Purdue football complex cost $65 million.... $140 million would build CFB's Mecca.

No it wouldn't.  That's half of what Northwestern just spent.

I agree with what you're saying. However I'm guessing Nebraska has a lot more in place than Northwestern had when they did this. I don't think we'll bee needing to create new practice fields, for one thing. That was included in what they did and was possibly the most expensive part.

I've seen HS with better facilities than Northwestern
