Big XII Media Day

With regards to our passing game all will be well, but let us not forget that we are one Zac Taylor season-ending injury away from being a totally different team. I hope that Harrison could come through for us, but he is a very big question mark right now. I think a lot of people are taking his health for granted. It was nothing shy of a miracle that he can still walk after the beating he took last year. It wasn't just the sacks- it was the knock downs too. I bet he got hit about every 3rd play last year. If that doesn't change this year (which it should, thanks to our revamped O line and improved receiving corps) Zac Taylor's health could be an issue.

Just got done listening to a interveiw with Gary Pinkel

MU head coach. I dont think the dumb a$$ said one sentence

with out studdering. After the interveiw the host Frank Boal

was saying how MU has a chance to win every game on there

schedule. But then said they have a tough schedule. :WTH

See what kind of dumb fu#*$ Im dealing with down here.

Yep...like every team in college football, they have that chance. But of course they're Mizzery, so they won't.

One ofthe steps in his progression is not taking sacks.

And when you look at sacks the overall consensus

is your line is not doing well when you take a sack.

But sacks are the extension of everybody that

plays on offense. It has to do with the timing of the

quarterbacks, the timing of the receivers to get

open, and that's critical. If they're not on time, then

they're going to disrupt the rhythm of the attack.
comments on this? Does anyone disagree in thinking that the average time it took the receivers to get open was more than adequate...and that the offensive line was to blame last year? Or is Callahan right in saying it's all a perfectly timed dance in that one mistake by someone can bring the whole offense down and the opposing team rushing their asses off towards the QB?

granted I don't think the OL meant to let Taylor get hit so much, but I felt they really needed to step it up more. Taylor shouldn't HAVE to be the one keeping his cool and throwing the ball off fast. He should have all the time in the world to get those receivers down field.
I would allow an INT per +3 receptions instead of drops. Taylor can't run down the field and hold their hand...oops...something...so these guys can catch the f'ing ball. Catching and ball security has always been an achilles heel for NU. I really believe the talent for wideouts is there...IF they can catch the ball first. :steam :thumbs

Anyone else notice that in the quotes section for NU, that Lydon Murtha is referred to as "Lineman Bertha"? I thought that was hilarious.
