Biggest Areas of Need for the 2013 Class

What we need is a RB and a QB. Newby and Stanton would be nice gets. We could always have more DTs and OL right now.

Are there any decent DTs we're recruiting that we actually have a chance with? That and OL are probably my biggest concerns right now.

RB then OT are the biggest needs I see, followed by CB, DT, interior OL, another TE and another WR.

We've actually done fairly well at DT lately if we can stop having so many injuries, but it's such a key position that there's always a need.

You're definitely right, dylan. Runningback is a need. I guess I'm not too "worried" about it because we always seem to get good runningbacks, and honestly they're not all that difficult to come by compared to most positions. I'm confident we'll get a good one, or two. No idea if we're planning on taking two though.

CB is probably a big need, especially if Dixon gets that LSU offer and decides to jump ship.

Who do we have left at DT? Vanderdoes is SC bound. I would think DT would be of great need.

With 12-14 scholarships still out there to give it appears like the rest of this class is gonna be a bunch of three and two star guys. My guess would be we might snag 3-4 more four star type guys.

D-line got stocked last year dt curry 6'3 300, de mcmullen 6'5 255, dt valentine 6'3 320, de avery moss 6'4 245 all have good potential. We took 4 linebackers, 3 db,1 wr, 1 qb, 1 rb, 1 te, and 2 O-Line listed as OT's. I personally would like to see a good center in this class with 2 more quality o line guys . And I guess anyone who is taleneted enough to step in and make a difference is always welcome.

While it's too early to say for sure, I think both of our linemen from last year will be playing guard, hence the need for true tackles in this class. Whitaker could conceivably play any line position and I suppose thurston could play right tackle, but both seem more like interior players.

I think DL is a point of need for us. Todd Peat came in with high expectations but he's starting his career with injuries which is never a good sign. We brought in a couple good ones last year and that will help but those big guys get banged up easily so you can never have too many. A defense with a great front line has an advantage from the first snap. LB's have the freedom to roam a bit and DB's don't have to cover as long.

RB is also an area we need to address. Another strong elusive back like Rex would be nice. He could learn under Rex and be ready the next year.

Donovan Munger, Toby Johnson, Jay Woods

At this point we still need:

2 CB (Cover guys).

2 DE (Pass rushers).

3 OL (At least two of which should be OTs).

2 DT (Biggest need thus far).

1 RB (Not a huge prioroty, but still necessary).

1 WR (Have Gladney, but still need another).

1 QB (Getting Stanton was big, but one more would be good).

1 ATH (A versatile kid who could play WR, SS, FS).

Based on our current 12 commits, signing the above allotment would give us 25 scholarships.
