Bill Cowher/ Tony Dungy

I am not sure why we aren't discussing the cream of the crop. Why not Cowher, Dungy, Stoops?

Would we have to pay them $8 million a year? Yes, so what. Can you imagine how much money is going to be lost over the next 5-10 years if we hire another dud? Go with a proven leader, now. Not someone we hope will turn out to be good.

This is Nebraska football.

Typically, NFL coaches don't like the recruiting aspect of college. And, professionally, it's considered a step down.

When coaches tire of the pros' attitude, then they consider college. Dungy has a pretty good situation - why would he leave? However, he's certainly a type of coach we should look for.

Zero chance Dungy would leave Indianapolis to coach Nebraska.

Zero chance Cowher would even be interested.

And I'm assuming you are referring to Bob Stoops? Zero chance he's leaving Oklahoma for Nebraska.

 
Stoops as in Bob Stoops?? Won't happen. Ever. The Sooners fan will never let him go. He's in a gang now. The only way out for him is if he runs thru a gauntlet of sooner fans. If he survives, he's out. If he doesn't, then no one gets him. Dungy and Cowher? Hell no

 
Love Cowher when he was the coach of the Steelers but could not see his style of coaching working in Nebraska. Besides it would take 6 million at least to get him.

 
maybe the dumbest thing that has ever been posted on this board. tony dungy, bill cowher? i can't even believe you are serious. nebraska is a good job. its not the ultimate job. No one is going to leave a super bowl champion ... nm i'm deciding that you are joking b/c no one is that dense.

 
I think its very possible Bill Cowher may be coming to Nebraska, I know it sounds far fetched but I've been hearing it a lot. It would make sense hes got to be looking for another challenge after leaving Pittsburg.

 
I think this is very far fetched. However, I think the way this guy coaches and communicates with his players would fit in at Nebraska. A smashmouth running game with some trickeration every so often.

 
No more NFL coaches please. College and Pro are different worlds, and most coaches cant make the adjustment.

 
I think one person is starting a bunch of new aliases (NorthernHusker, cornhugger, dtrain32586) to post these ridiculous threads in Rumorville. Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Houston Nutt, etc.
