Although binge drinking is typically seen in 18 to 34-year-olds on the national level, most of the data for this report derived from Nebraska's 65 and older population.

i feel like this wasnt a well done survey. Norfolk? Really? I feel like they surveyed some states rather intensely and others not as much. However, I would be willing to bet that Nebraska may be significantly lower on the usage of other illegal drugs, but I have no evidence whatsoever.

FWIW binge drinking according to this survey is 5 or more drinks in one sitting for men or 4 or more in one sitting for women. 5 beers isn't exactly getting plastered in my experience.

 
Does inhaling a pitcher of beer and then stopping count as one drink?

Last time I did that, I raced home on my Vulcan before the alcohol took effect..Woke up in the Hospital..

Att the Alcohol Awareness class they made me attend, I was told that my hometown/county had the highest per capita alcoholism in Nebraska..I couldn't even remember ever seeing anyone over 25 drunk when I lived there..

They were there. You just passed out first.

 
Not surprising in the least to me. Although counting crap like bud-light, miller-light, etc where it's like drinking slightly alcoholic water is a little cheap. Goto a bar some time, not early, late enough that you can watch the people that can really drink, just realize they are probably on beer 4 by 8 or 9pm. Then leave before last call and people trying to find afterparties or buy package hit the streets.

There's a lot of things wrong with the way this survey was conducted. For example, when was the survey taken, if it was anytime within a month of St. Patrick's Day, then of course you're going to get a lot more answers of yes. Another could be the fact that some people are unaware of what binge drinking is defined as.
