Assuming this years D is a top 25 defense and we have won at least 4 games, I'm betting that the shirts go out the day after the K State game. Even if the D has had better games earlier in the year.

That Texas game is huge, and the staff is going to want the players as psyched as possible. Not that they'll need additional motivation after last year, but every little bit helps.

 
I wouldn't be surprised to see them handed out before the first game, if these guys have a good camp.

I agree. Traditionally, the shirts have always been handed out before the season. I think Bo will return to that as soon as he feels like his system/culture is in place. Hopefully that starts this year.

 
I’m guessing the week before the Big 12 sched starts. I think Bo will use this as a motivational tool well into the season. But it is just a wild assed guess on my part.

Regardless of when the Blackshirts are awarded, they actually have meaning now. The Blackshirts had lost their meaning by 2007.

 
Whatever the case, I hope reporters start asking about it as soon as possible. I think it's Bo's favorite question to get, and I'm sure he can't wait for the Blackshirt intrigue to start again.

Maybe we should start a prediction on who the first reporter is to ask the question and gets verbally slapped by Bo. :snacks:

 
I think he probably gives them out in camp. At this point if you're starting for the nebraska defense you deserve one. He can still take them away anytime he wants.
