Great! Wonder if more teams might start taking notice of the impact he had, and begin to hire more coaches based on personality and people skills instead of coaching ability?

I'll tell you what, he is quickly ascending to the top as one of those people "you'd most like to hang out with for a day". Just seems like a great all around person.

Before callahan, cosgrove, blake, and co came to NU, the Huskers COULD offer winning to their recruits.

Really? Did they offer winning after the 7-7 season? You think one of the selling tools was "Hey, we won just as many as we lost!"
I bet if Blake left the program right now he would have a job at a powerhouse program immediately. He wouldn't have to wait a year to even be considered or wouldn't have to be bailed out by a buddy of his.
Nobody that Blake coached on the DL ever said he was a bad coach. He may not be head coach material, but he did prove he was a very good DL coach with the Cowboys.

I agree with you on this one. I think Frankie, although had success could fall under this category. He was a lot better running backs coach then head man. IMO

They say how wonderful of a guy he is, and the great personal realtionship they have with him, but I have never, ever, ever heard one former player said that he made the guy a better player. 1. You can't take T.O. out of retirement. Get over it. And Frankie's no T.O.
2. He's no longer a head coach, he's not fit for a head coach, he's a defensive lines coach, and he's a damn good one and a damn fine recruiter.
3. Yeah, he just sat back and drank kool-aid as the Cowboys cruised to win another ring. All he had to do was show up at work. Give me a break.
Blake did amazing things with our D-Line. We were consistently ranked in the top 5 this year in rush defense and finished up somewhere around top 10, much better than last year. And you can't say it was all Barrett Ruud, or you weren't watching. J.B. did great things with the guys he had this year. His DE's got adequate pass rushes in most games, and despite the SEVERE lack of depth he had to take over at DT, he took what he had and ran with it. And if you think he's a horrible coach, if you blame the D-Line for this year's poor defense, then you're pathetic.

30+ missed tackles in that game. I don't think many of those came from the DL either. The LB's and DB's had a hard time with him.
We didn't get a rush on the QB this year, you are right. If that improves this year, I think that takes some of the weight off the secondary's shoulders.
