Word from a former player is that Dr. Tom wants Bo for his HC. Turner is being asked to come in as assistant AD to be groomed to take over when Tom is done with his temporary job (which he really doesn't want to drag out - Nancy doesn't want him consumed with NU again, so when he said this was temporary it really was).
This fits into why Pearlman went with Osborne - not to interview coaches, but to interview Turner for the AD position.
