Bo Pelini's Job Security Examined

The SEC has 2 great teams almost every year and 2 good teams (sometimes 3) most years and the rest get a ratings boost based on those teams.
. . . and 1 of those 2 great teams has won the national championship for what? Seven straight years? (Going from memory.)

This is mostly a pointless debate.
It's preseason. Most of them are . . .

This is true. What's also true, is that other teams that could/should have gotten a shot were passed up in favor of the SEC based on perceived strength. The 2011 title game was a travesty.

I don't do moral victories. A loss is a loss and a win is a win.
I never want to see you say anything about blowout losses then.
i judge how bad we win or lose to who we play and how the season will play out. for all the close wins we had last year against sh**ty teams caught up with us in the ccg last year. when you play against better teams you can't fool anyone how good you are.
If a loss is a loss... Shouldn't a win be a win?

I agree about the 2011 game.

If "wins are wins" (as has been said repeatedly in this thread) the SEC is the best. They win. Full stop.

Those statements aren't even related.

the sec is the best, but who cares? i hope the B1G is closing the gap, but who cares? it is all trivial until we win a conference championship and introduce ourselves into the conversation of national title prospects.

Just because an SEC (or any other conference) team wins a BCS title doesn't automatically mean the whole conference is the best. It's quite simple. The whole concept is a media driven hype machine, and quite ludicrous.
Do they actually say that the whole conference is the best or that the best of the SEC is the best in the country? Because I think that the latter has been shown to be true.

They say it, as did you above.
