Board suspends two recruiting proposals

http://www.ncaa.org/...ing%20proposals

They suspended the provisions on who can recruit and what printed materials can be sent to recruits.

They're leaving the unlimited calling/texting up to the override, where they will review it if 75 schools request an override by March 20. So far they're at about 48.

That's one of the big ones, wasn't it? No unlimited auxiliary recruiting staffs. Schools need their coaching staffs to be good recruiters.

I hate the idea of these kids being able to be contacted and "harassed" by recruiters. Its not like they don't get it enough with the limit. Let these kids enjoy their Senior year, and focus on football and school work.

I actually don't mind this one. If a kid doesn't want to talk he doesn't have to. But they implemented this rule in basketball and it really seemed to cut down on the garbage with slimeballs that hang around these kids and take advantage of them for their own benefit under the guise of "mentors" and "advisors".

The ones they got rid of are the ones that would really have affected recruiting in a very big way.

Never thought of it this way. Good Point.
