BOOGER-GATE: Sanchez also discussed his decision to wipe a booger on backup quarterback Mark Brunell while both stood on the sidelines in the first quarter of the Jets-Steelers game. The move was caught by CBS cameras and became a popular clip on YouTube.
Sanchez said he was keeping things light with Brunell, whom he considers a mentor.
The only problem?
I just feel so bad that it was on TV, Sanchez said.
He called Brunell to apologize the next day.
He said, Oh dont worry about it, only 55 million people saw you fake wipe a booger on me, Sanchez said. The worst part is I know hes going to get me back and I know no one is going to be around to see it. So I know its going to be worse.
