Obviously Bo is in a different situation, but I had a retention equal to 1 years salary paid out 40/60 at 6 and 12 months, and an additional 10k at 13 months at my last job due to a buyout. It was the worst experience I've ever had - I clashed with the corporate company that bought us, and since they knew I wasn't going to leave they treated me like sh!t for 13 solid months. I almost left after the first payout but stuck it out. My last day was the day after I received the 13 month bonus. Now, 18 months later they've run the company into the ground (as I told them they would) - and let go of almost the entire staff from the orginal purchase (as I told the staff they would). Wouldn't wish it on anyone. How would like to know that, if you do your job well, in 4 yrs time; for no other reason than you didn't get fired or leave:
you would recieve a $500,000 bonus?
Damn, I've been at the same job for 7 yrs and am self employed. What I make is what I earn. If, 2 yrs ago I wouldve receved a bonus of 25% of my annual income, just for being there (plus yearly raises!) I would be...excited to stick around.
I hope Bo feels the same way: Win and do well, earn $500,000 EXTRA in 4 yrs.
Money doesn't buy championships..........unless your team plays in the SEC.Money like that ought to buy you AT LEAST a Conference championship, wouldn't you think?
