I think he's gone. That performance yesterday wasn't the behavior of a man who thinks he's saying, or even wants to stay.

Even if he wanted to stay, he clearly doesn't understand how the head coach of Nebraska should comport himself.

the negative publicity Bo has brought to Nebraska could be something that could hurt his standing with those 7 million reasons. i believe they are probably trying to negotiate away about 5 or 6 million of those reasons.

It seems not. That presser put a bleak spin on that leaked Ohio State audio. Couldn't have scripted a performance better suited to the narrative.

Truth be told I find this whole thing a little surreal. I was fairly sure Pelini was going to get another year even a couple of weeks ago. I didn't think Pelini would self-immolate, as someone else put it.

Same here. Even yesterday morning I would have voted "somewhat unlikely". Yesterday's performance (not talking about the football team) was a game changer.

 
Bo's actions yesterday were incredibly damaging. A man fighting for his job, and he completely consumes himself throughout the afternoon. Complete lack of poise on a day when he needed to have it most.... Like Shatel said, "Bo put it on a tee for them" (Eichorst/Perlman).

I just agree with this, whenever its something negative about bo its all over the news. Again i like bo but he has brought a bad rep to the program. Most programs when they lose theres something about the loss and thats it. When nebraska makes a bone head play or has a huge meltdown they all pan to bo or they all focus on what bo is going to say or do. I dont want to see a man fall but maybe he just needs to be on the side of a program and not the face. He has done a great job here but over the years whenever people think about nebraska they dont think about the 5NC or the dominating era we had in the 80s and 90s. They think about bo blowing up on national tv. I mean programs can lose, people get blown out by other opponents all the time. But bo brings a show and thats what brings views which brings negativity to the program. Im sorry bo your a good coach and you have brought this program back from certain doom, but to be a leader you need to show composure. You need to show like that was all part of the plan and that nothing rattles you. Wearing your heart on your sleeve only gets you punched in the arm.

ESPN is not looking for positive spins. Like all media, they are looking for ratings. A "fresh start" does not mean ESPN will look at us positively, it means they will look for wherever the next train wreck is........though we are becoming pretty good at self created train wrecks......and the media licks their chops for that type of thing.

I don't know why this surprises you that much. Florida is in the SEC and they are partners with ESPN, so of course they will cover them more and help make excuses for a team like Florida. I have said this a few times about Bo and I still feel this way, I really hope he stays with different coordinators. I would like to see them hire an offensive coordinator that can help to give us some consistency and I would like to see them make Bo the HC/DC. It will be interesting to see how things play out in the next few weeks.

Eh, he had a ton of opportunities prior to this year to find different coordinators outside of the insulated bubble of buddies he's now created. Also, I'm under the impression that he is the HC/DC currently. At least that's been the speculation around these parts. In any event, the situation is suddenly too contentious for him to stay. I wouldn't have said that 48 hours ago, but look at the swirling mess we're in now. Can anyone imagine how awkward it would be at this point if he doesn't go? It's like refusing to tell your wife you love her, letting all your buddies tell her that you hate her, having her tell you that if you want a divorce just divorce her, and then waiting a few days and saying to her, "actually I've decided we can stay hitched." Oh and in the meantime the entire community you live in is posting, tweeting, and talk-showing about your relationship.

Oh, it doesn't surprise me. I was just pointing out the obvious (as part of my frustration with the whole situation). While I can see valid points with both the Bo-gonners and the Bo-stayers, I was just adding the additional fact that he has few visible supporters nationally, and a fresh start might help the "Brand". Even the blowhards at espn would have an opportunity to report on a fresh start.

 
I am wondering if the jackhole banker from North Platte is going to be putting the money where his mouth is now. Or, is he just someone who talks a bunch of crap to look important and then lets others clean up the mess. Also, I really don't think Pelini was fighting for his job. I really think that he knew what was coming regardless and I am disappointed he felt the need to disgrace the program nationally. I really think even firing him won't be good for the program, but having said that I don't think we have a choice now either. No win situation for the program here and Pelini didn't help his future job search either.

Ouch for this guy's stupidity? I see nothing here that makes me think "ouch" for Nebraska. Like Husker_x just said, Bo's 2-1 against Iowa. If anyone has an easy W on their schedule for the Heroes Game, it's Bo (if he stays).
