I think Eichorst's statement just turned this into a chess match from hell. Bo saying the things he said, acting the way he did, almost daring the AD to fire him, speaks volumes about his indifference about being here.

Either way, next season, which should have so much promise, looks to be screwed.

Fire Bo, lose recruits, suffer player transfers, and deal with new coaches and a new learning curve for players.

Keep Bo, and deal with the same 'lose some you shouldn't, lose some you're expected to', but this time with a coach that is probably sulking from not getting his instant 7.5 mil payday that probably wanted to get out anyway. The sideline antics vs Iowa will seem like someone quietly reading in a library compared to what will take place.

I really wish I thought there was a better answer. Especially since we're planning on coming back to the U.S. next fall and my wife and son will get their first Memorial Stadium experience. I know the gameday feel will still be good...I just wish I had a better attitude about what 2014 Husker football is going to be like.

how can anyone be happy with a coach that hates his fans, acts like a petulant child whenever the chips are down, and has not progressed the program at all since his second year. we are not only worse, our competition has been a joke.
I think the answer is, they are younger fans that don't realize that things can (and have been) better. They forget we had 35 years of success prior to Callahan showing up.
If you think that I don't realize that things can and were better, think again.
It's not about the record when it comes to how things were better, it was the passion that the team played with week in and week out with very few exceptions. That is what I think younger guys can't appreciate because they were too young to see it. It just seems to me that the younger people are more likely to accept mediocrity for fear that it 'could be' worse since a very high % of their fandom took place during the dreaded Cally years. Maybe I'm wrong.
